When I found Skyler Ridge I was thrilled, it was conveniently located near my work, plus there are several stores and restaurants within minutes in every direction. However, right from literally the very first day I moved in there were issues with the office. Key issues, lease issues, and every question I had was met with attitude or flat our refusal to help, because that was their policy. There favorite response was, that is just the way it is, or that is our policy. Also they lie and say every other apartment has the same policies for anything you question, but in 10 years of living in apartments I ve never seen so many hidden rules and extra fees! Read through your lease VERY carefully and make sure that you can live with all there ridiculous rules that will cause a fine if you don t comply.
Noise was a major problem, if you don t mind hearing everything your neighbors do then this is the place for you! I lived in a bottom floor apartment, but the floors are soooo thin that I can hear every minor step taken by my upstairs neighbors. I ve called and made complaints, but to no avail. In fact it got worse after I made the original complaint. The appliances are outdated and run however not efficiently. For example, you have to wash your dishes before you can put them in the dishwasher. The stove works, but the buttons don t match and takes forever to heat up the oven. Plus cabinet space/pantry and linen closets are minimal if any at all. There are no built in lights except for the kitchen and bathrooms, but they will install a light fixture/ceiling fan if you purchase them. I do have to say maintenance issues were addressed quickly. However they enter your apartment when ever they want without notice. In one month I got 2 notices they were going to enter for regular upkeep; however they entered more then half a dozen times. Aside from when they said they would enter they never left notes saying they had entered your apartment . CREEPY if you re a single girl!!!! They don t wipe there feet, so from time to time they tracked dirt in and I would have to clean up the mess.
While the apartments are old, slightly run down and very old appliances customer service is not a concept this management company is aware of. When they were purchased by a new company I thought maybe things would improve, but if anything it s worse and now they have all these new rules that aren t documented on my lease . But as the lady in the office said it s their new rules and it s just the way it is, our policy. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND FRUSTRATION OF MOVING HERE. There are so many other apartments in the area for the same price. My lease is up end of March and I can t wait to move! Out of the 5 apartments I ve lived in over the years, this is by far the worst; I d give it a -10 if that was possible.
