We have lived at Skyler Ridge for almost 4 years and just paid rent late for only the second time since we have lived there. We did not include an adequate late fee in our rent check because we were unaware that they changed their late-fee policy. Instead of notifying us that we underpaid, they cashed our check and then put an eviction notice on our door 9 days later. When I called the office and spoke to the assistant manager, I got attitude and refusal to cut us a break. We managed to pay the full amount of the late fees ($156 for paying one day late). It is also very coincidental that the eviction notice appeared on our door 3 days after we gave the office a letter informing them we'd be moving out in 60 days (in accordance with our lease agreement). Now, I understand we signed a lease that agreed to the late fees and I would normally pay these without protest when I missed the due date. I would also appreciate some respect from the management and consideration that (other than this occasion) I have only paid rent late on one occasion in four years. Thank goodness we are leaving this place. This is the latest in a string of problems that have plagued our experience here. Flooding, horrible neighbors, inadequate parking, failure to resolve maitenance issues and poor construction are just the start to the list.
