We just moved in about two months ago. Nice space for the money and I think it's convenient to combine the water and rent bills.
Ginger helped us out big time when I mentioned parking had been a concern at our last apartment. She chose one of the units for us in a building with ample parking. I've never, not even one time, not been able to park within 10 feet of my door. Sometimes I even get the spaces right out front our door! Parking was a major issue at our last residence so this is a really nice change. The parking lot didn't used to be very well lit, but they went through and put brand new bright ass parking lot lights on the outsides of the buildings and it lights nearly every corner of the parking lot with the main focus being on the fronts of our apartments, near the doors and outside stairways. It really makes me feel safer, being able to see pretty much everything. Seriously, it's almost as bright as midday. I take it back, they had to resurface the parking lot and that was the only time I had to park far away from my unit, but no one could use the parking lots around almost three buildings at that time. It was a single day, come on! I seriously cannot express how much I love the parking here. After having to park on the damned street, then coming here and being able to walk less than 10 feet to my door ... It's so awesome.
The only noise we've ever heard have been little feet stomping around upstairs, but it's normally not too early or too late. You can sometimes hear the washer and dryer in the unit above us as well, but I'm sure they can hear ours, too. You can hear the neighbor behind us, I think he makes beats or something because there's occasionally bass bumping, but it's never been too early or too late--Usually midday, after noon when everyone's awake--Except me because I work at night and sleep during the day. Even during the day, when I'm sleeping, it's never been a big issue or even an annoyance. His bass can only be heard in the living room and only if no music or TV is turned on to drown it out. Other than that, I haven't heard horribly loud music, loud TVs, or even any loud talking or yelling. Over all, we got a pretty quiet unit/building.
The grounds are kept nice. Another reviewer did mention the problem with dogs and I don't normally traipse through the grass so I haven't really noticed anything too bad. My building's not too bad, grass is green and we have some decorative rocks or whatever outside the building. I'd prefer no bushes/flowers taking up space because I'd rather not deal with the bugs they attract, but I don't feel the outside is shabby looking.
I feel quite safe in my current unit. The parking lot is well lit, we have a deadbolt on the door and even all our inside doors have locks on them. There are cameras in and around the front office, too. We were also told that several cops live on site in different units and I think we have one who lives in the building across the parking lot. It's nice to know if anything happens, the fuzz is already here!
The building itself seems sturdy, the paint is new, the fixtures work fine, and I think we've only had one issue. Our AC runs pretty much non-stop and I don't know if it's from the huge patio door or the one inch gap between the bottom of the door frame and our front door. We've reported that to maintenance and they're going to come out to install a little door sweeper thing underneath the door to get that taken care of. We've only had to call maintenance one time and it was a clogged sink in our kitchen which was my roommates doing because she puts grease down the sink without the garbage disposal. The guy was really nice and when I asked him about our AC and the door issue, he suggested we open up our doors to help with that. We have to keep every door shut so our silly dog doesn't get into trouble. He only came out once and we haven't had a problem since. Still no news on the door sweeper thing, though.
I've only ever dealt with Ginger, our leasing agent who helped us move in. She was helpful and very nice whenever we spoke on the phone or in person. She tried to do everything in her power to ease the stress of moving for us and I really appreciated it. I had to get a package from the front desk once and the lady there was nice, too, but I didn't catch her name. So far, I haven't had any problems with the office staff either!
Overall, it's been good so far. No real issues with our parking, noise, the grounds, our safety, the construction of the building and unit, maintenance, the staff, or anything else really!. We'll see if anything comes up, but my roommate and I plan on staying past our one year lease. The front desk should offer folks a number to call to rent a washer and dryer, for 30 bucks a month for both units being full-size, we couldn't ask for more. Our unit has a separate room for the washing machine and dryer and you can close the door to that room and the noise nearly goes away completely. The door to the laundry room is considerably more thick than any other door besides the front door so I think that really helps.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! My experience obviously would differ from someone else's, but this is a positive review and my time spent at Springhill Apartments has been better than the last two places I've lived at in Overland Park. The price isn't too bad for the space. We haven't really met any of our neighbors, but they always say hello or hey when they see us around. I've enjoyed my time here and I hope none of the problems that some other folks have had will ruin this thus far excellent experience.

I would love to know what happened to Ginger-I agree she was great and always pleasant and easy to work with. Since she left their has been one rude/snotty office person after another. Things have really gone downhill since she left, I am glad that they recently got rid of new manager Sarah-she had some of the worst customer service skill of anyone i have ever worked with! I've seen about 4 managers different managers and 3-4 assistants. Ginger was the only one i recall as perticually helpfull or friendly.
