I am a leasing agent at a nearby property and have been at Thomasbrook for just under a year now (since before I began leasing). I automatically fell in love with the apartment the second I set foot in it. The floorplans are very spacious and, due to Section 8, are very well priced. The staff has always worked with me when I have had a problem and maintenence has fixed everything for me same day. Unfortunately, because it IS a Section 8 property a lot of issues tend to be associated with that. There does tend to be quite a bit of noise (loud neighbors, laundry being done at midnight-1 am, loud pets, etc...). It is in a great location, very near to everything. Also unfortunately, this tends to be one of the highest crime areas in Shawnee for thefts and burglaries. I myself actually had my wallet stolen at this property and the theif used my debit card, clearing out the $700 I had in my account. I have never felt safe here. In summary, location is great, floorplans, and staff are excellent but the area is NOT safe. Be cautious when making your decision to move here.

I do apologize for my wrong choice of wording previously, Rachel. However, I have changed that just for you and I assure you it IS 100% accurate. If you do not believe me, feel free to read other reviews posted and you'll notice a trend in the words "vandalism" and "theft". When I filed a police report on my stolen wallet, the officer even straight out told me it was not safe. I also left my apartment one morning to go to work and walked straight into a group of roughly 5 or 6 FBI Agents (LITERALLY they were wearing FBI vests and carrying) just standing in a circle between my building and the one adjacent to mine. Never found out what that was regarding, but I'm sure you'll agree it was mildly creepy.

Hey "lilballofsunshine": if you read MY review, you'll see that I agree that it's creepy and people should stay away! i guess there's a reason why you're leasing instead of doing something better with your life, since you obviously don't know how to get your point across without sounding like an idiot. toodles!
