Three Lakes

I moved into my apartment a year ago. I had a short time to find an apartment. One reason I chose this place is the spacious living room. I have lived in several older apartments that have been kept up well. My apartment needs work. My mirror falls off my bathroom wall. The trim, along all the cabinets at the floor, has fallen off. I had to clean the carpet after I moved in and it is coming apart at the seams. The electric and gas bills are extremely high and I keep the temperature very moderate (64 in winter and only run the ac if absolutely necessary). Last summer, my ac was out for 3 days over one of the hottest weekends and I couldn't get a hold of anyone in management and when you can get a hold of someone I get the brush off and no one responds to look into the issues. The sidewalks are usually covered with goose poop and it has washed into my car port, so I have to walk through it to get to my car. I am looking around and thinking of moving. I am finding larger apartments for $150 less about 10 minutes away. It's not a horrible place, but I would recommend apartment hunters keep looking. I am the type of person who hates moving and lived in my last place for 10 years, so I am not convinced to move easily, but after a year I'm ready.

It does seem that you have experienced some unfortunate ordeals (so to speak). However, if there are problems in an apartment such as mirror trim or other trim for cabinetry, the office or management team cannot fix them unless notified. We have no idea if something's not right with an occupied apartment unless there is a complaint. Utility bills are completely out of the management's control and you may or may not save money on them by moving. All of the furnaces and ACs went through a supreme inspection at this property last year, and have been maintained quarterly as you may recall from the preventative maint. inspections. It may be true that you have found some place cheaper, and just as close, but that does not necessarily mean that it's a better community...just because of price. Before moving you should really mention these things to the manager b/c she might go out of her way to ensure satisfaction. There are many geese in OP and are very difficult to keep up with, especially when walkways cannot be "washed" off due to freezing temps. It seems that you do have valid concerns, but nothing that seems like it can't be fixed.

I'm looking for a new place and can I just say..WOW! Sounds like the response came from management. While looking at other apt complexes, I have noticed that management often responds in the rudest, mot unprofessional way to tennats who dare to post on this site. However, it sounds as though this management team is above par. Bravo! Your location is still a competitor and if I do decide to rent, I hope you remain as reasonable as you sound.
