Not worth a second look

My roommate and I were excited to look at the place after seeing the spacious floor plan online. Once we got there, though, we were very disappointed. Our first impression of the apartment was a loud, rattling furnace... the agent assured me that was unusual, but I wasn't sure whether to take her word for it!
The bathrooms were dingy and poorly lit, and the tiny mirror above the sink was hung so low, I couldn't see my forehead in it. (I'm 5'11") I don't feel like having to bend over to put on my makeup! (And I probably wouldn't have been able to SEE to put on my makeup in that terrible lighting.)
The upstairs loft was spacious, but it had what looked like a useless fireplace right at the top of the stairs. What's the point in that' Heat rises... you're not going to heat the rest of the apartment with that. We'd planned on using the loft as an office... but there would be no way to get any sort of desk or large furniture up those spiral stairs. Oh, and the metal edges of the stairs cut into my feet even through my shoes.
Upon going out on the balcony, we were greeted with an impressive view... of the green mold growing on the rotting boards. I was afraid to even walk out on the porch for fear that it would collapse under me.
The ceilings were low, and despite the large floor plan, the place felt dark, cramped, and small. We were highly disappointed and will not be renting there.

I guess when they say you can pay more for a newer model, it's worth a look. I have some neighbors with a newer model and they absolutely love it! I could be a little jealous. The spiral stairs are a bit of a pain, but according to the maintenance man, it's not unusual to see furniture being hoisted over the roof. I have another neighbor who paid a very large man to lift his full size bed with a truck and rope. Ha ha.
In any case, all the models are different and the cost is very similar. Surely there is something to suit your needs.

Why are you even posting something when you know NOTHING about the community. I have lived here for 2 years and have been soooooo happy here! It is soooo quiet and nice and I never have any problems. You have no right to put a negative review on here when you haven't even moved in. Also, if you would have asked to see something else they could and would have shown you.

Why are you posting negative reviews when you haven't even lived here? We live in a loft and love it. It is our office and we had no problem hoisting our stuff up the spiral stair case. It is the biggest apartment in Johnson County for the money. Good luck finding something better!

It's perfectly acceptable by the standards of this site to post when you've visited the community. There's a checkbox for it when you leave the review. You can either certify that you're a resident, or certify that you've visited the apartments.
If that was the apartment that they show potential renters, they're not going to get very many prospects.
