My roommate and I can pretty much sum this place up in one word, "scheisty". I won't speak for him, though; I'm sure he'll have something to write on his own behalf.
When you look at these apartments, they mislead you and lie to you to an extreme extent. Once you've signed, everything changes. I think the staff actually enjoys screwing people. Many times, when I was at the pool, the whole office staff would come out there to have their smoke break (atleast once an hour and ten minutes in length). They would sit out there and gossip about how stupid the tenants are and laugh about how much they pissed someone off. In the winter, they do this in the indoor swimming pool, which is combined with the "state of the art fitness center". nothing like working up a good sweat on the treadmill surrounded by clouds of smoke, chlorine fumes, and snickering office workers. Enough of my subjectivity; lets look at the facts. Let's breakdown their website. you can follow along at www.whisperinghillsks.com

-----homepage-----
" community offerssome of the area(')s most enjoyable parks and recreation center" - grassy area across street belongs to church whom has recently contacted authorities to keep apartment residents off property. Nearest park has become a popular location for suicide by hanging. (this is not a joke). I have no idea what rec center they are talking about

features & amenities--
-washer/dryer hookups- no hot water for washer hook up, squirrels live in walls via dryer exhaust (contacted office and issued "online service request" to no avail
-microwave- we used our own because apartments had foul smell that only got worse with use
-wood burning fireplaces- chimney was also an entry/exit point for local wildlife into our wall (contacted office. they came out and put concentrated fox urine all over our apartment to scare away animals. later contacted them about heavy urine smell this created and became almost unbearable on humid days to no avail. Also, flu on fireplace was faulty and would not stay open. (major fire and smoke hazard) we later learned from a neighbor that our apartment had caught fire twice with the tenants before us.

-French style windows-falling off and rotting, but recently painted over to hide their condition
-ceiling fans- we lived in their biggest floorplan, which came with one fan that wobbled enough that we were afraid to stand below it while on.
-private patio or balcony- we were told before moving in that we could use a grill on it, but shortly after moving in received notices that it was unacceptable
-private entryways- unkept. lightbulb inside and outside would not be replaced until a resident did (this is not an overstatement, and you appreciate how dangerous it is while fumbling for your keys in pitch black inside and outside not knowing if someone is hiding in some corner watching you.
-indoor outdoor heated pool- never ever was it heated, and usually had a good layer of algae at bottom and on sides. see above for discussion about office staff using pool as their giant personal ashtray. pool closed on Mondays for maintance. In fairness, there must have been some maintenance going on on Mondays, but mostly office staff and maintenance workers using it as their private pool for the day.
-state of the art fitness center- One tv that doesn't have sound and almost gets one channel. see above for discussion of smoke, chlorine gas, and snickering office workers. Also closed on mondays. Very dirty and rusty machinery (due to proximity to pool and strong oxidizing gases containing oodles of free radicals and carcinogens. consider that while you're gasping for air on the treadmill.)
-spa- better referred to as kiddy pool (always cold) Actually, it was lukewarm once... that was kinda nice.
-sauna- lived there for over a year and not once was it unlocked due to being broken down.
-2 lighted tennis courts- lights do work occasionaly. one of the courts is always missing huge chunks of the clay(cement'), which wreaks havoc on the unsuspecting ankle. Also, after rains, you can forget about using the courts for about 3 days due to flooding.
-carports- you get 1 spot per apartment, no matter how many bedrooms. They don't keep up with lighting in them either. Also, I quit parking under there after noticing many 2by4's and other pieces falling off of them after the snow in winter. A neighbor told me that one fell on his car one night, and the management refused to pay for the damages.
-newly remodled clubhouse- clubhouse looks great, except it's actually the office. That's how they trick you into signing.

More comments-

Once, I found a notice on my door telling us to be moved out within 3 days or they would file suit. It did not say what the problem was. We were extremely quiet, and kept to ourselves. I called to office to ask what the problem was. I was told that the manager would call me right back. The next day, she did and said that we had paid our rent one day late, and owed them $20. This was our first time to pay rent late in over a year. We received no notice or phone call, just a vague notice fit for only a lawyer to understand that was obviously designed to scare the crap out of the tenant. All over $20and two days.

I'm tired of writing, I'll leave the rest for my roommate, or maybe I'll update this sometime later.

more stories to come
-drug riddled neighbors with parties lasting days at a time
-the "dog ----"
-the neverending turnover of office workers which was always used as plausable deniability or excuses for broken promises or incompetence
-maintenance worker who coincidentally enters not once, not twice, but three times within one month when girls were staying over without knocking, without prior notice and without any reason to even enter the apartment
-etc.....

bottom line---
I have never been so compelled to give a bad review to anything in my whole life. I would not reccommend this apartment complex to my worst enemy.
