All Things Considered

***UPDATE***
So after being here for even longer and in anticipation of my lease expiring, I thought I'd give an update.

This is a ---- hole. Don't live here. Go somewhere else, you will regret it the day after you move in.

We've had many issues and shouting matches with the office staff. They claim that things are underway to become better and that we just need to wait and see. A timeframe would not be disclosed.

Point in fact it the trash problem. We've complained about this and even pointed out that there are two trash bags in a tree outside our apartment that have been there since November! We were promised that it would be taken care of and that the staff patrols the grounds twice a day for trash. -------- is all we ever get from the office staff.

Oh! The gross bugs that have totally freaked us out! There are spiders, mosquitos and huge red millipeds...creepy. They said that they were coming out to spray but again with the communication problem...nothing to indicate that anyone was in to do anything.

RUN! Don't walk away from this place. My original content was optimisitic.

All things considered this is not a terrible place, when you think about what you are paying and the location. The Boulevard is right on the Johnson County/Wyandot County boundary so you have to know what types of people live in this area.

The apartments are small and cramped and it seems that the demo apartments are larger than what you get. This may be an illusion but I don't recall looking at a small two bedroom it seemed very spacious, my apartment is not.

The Boulevard has many problems but that is to be expected in low cost apartment living. There is a trash problem just looks bad. Trash from the open air dumpsters blows out, the apartment complex is on a hill and receives lots of wind. The management needs to patrol the grounds daily and they'd have this fixed. These open air trash containers also attract cats that the residents let loose about the complex.

Dogs are usually leased and I've not seen any aggressive breeds. However, tenants are lazy and don't clean up after their animals.

The parking is OK but the management company is not staying on top of cars that aren't being used. They will eventually put a notice on a car but I've not seen any action taken after many weeks. Tow them!

Maintenance seems to respond fairly quickly. They have been by several times to correct minor things, including when the heat quite. However, management/maintenance has a problem of not communicating very well. I know they were in to fix the heat but not notice was left that someone was in my apartment.

The notice for your rent was being left on a door hanger and with all the wind, they would easily be blown off and lost. They have resolved this by putting a clip on each door to hold it more securely.

I've only seen two episodes of domestic violence but that will happen no matter where you live. But the police do patrol the parking lot very often. Not bad but it points to unwanted elements.

Read your lease and expect fines/fees for breaking the rules. They have a fine/fee for everything including a fee for leaving you a notice that your rent is late because you forgot because the original notice blew away in the wind.

The office staff is nice enough but some of them can be very confrontational / argumentative. They assume that they are always right and when proven wrong barely apologize.

They offer free tanning and an exercise room. However, you must use them when the office is open as some smuck broke the electronic key system and the management company is still trying to come up with a replacement solution. It's been a few months now. The equipment for the exercise room is slighted dated but in general working order.

I am waiting to see what the summer brings and how well the pool is kept up since I moved in after it closed.

The walls are very thin. I have easily heard my neighbors having sex and screaming at their children. No consideration for the time of day or night. But that is part of apartment living too. But expect it a lot.

While most of the windows have a sliding storm window the large windows that make up the patio/deck let in way too much cold air in the winter. This can cause some serious heating bills.

Speaking of cold, when it snows you can expect very little effort on the part of maintenance to remove it. Parking lots are plowed into the cars which can cause issues with getting out of your parking spot. Sidewalks might get a small path or nothing at all depending on the amount of snowfall.

I've seen an area of one parking lot that floods when it rains. This make it fun for ducks but getting to those cars must be a nightmare. A drain needs to be cleaned.

They have issues and problems and it seems that they may be attempting to correct them. We can only hope.

I will not be renewing my lease. All the little things added on top of the fact that the place is just too small I can't stay.
