I was shown a nice model apartment (which is normal for apartment living) and got a not-nice model to live in. The discrepancy between what I was shown and what I ended up with was almost indescribable (not normal for apartment living). I continue to have a hole in the ceiling that I asked to have repaired in September (it is May) and the apartment above me has flooded again and there is more water damage on my ceilings. I get a headache the minute I walk in the apartment (literally and figuratively). I reported the new water damage 4-5 weeks ago and again, no action. However, when my paid rent was $1 under (which turned out to be a management mistake) I received an unprofessional letter threatening late fees (despite all previous (considerable # of months) on-time payments). My gas bill is HORRENDOUS because of drafts. I believe the office staff is trying, but there is so much wrong at this huge complex that all they can do is nod and say, "I'll report that," and sometimes they are so tired of dealing with unhappy customers that they are testy themselves. It's gotten to a point where I avoid the office if at all possible. I am marking off the days until the end of my lease (the leases are financially impossible to get out of as well). The best thing about the apartments is that the Price Chopper next door has great produce. They are inexpensive apartments, but you are not only not getting what you pay for, you're getting ripped off royally. If you're still tempted after this review, at least don't sign the lease until you talk to some residents and until you see the apartment they plan to plant you in.
