So we thought it was SOOOO great to move into this lovely 2 bedroom apartment for the price. Our friend had lived there and didn't have a horrible experiance, however, she only lived there for 6 months.
The day we moved in our carpets were soaking wet so much so we were worried about our new furniture being ruined by the wetness. Also, the bathroom was not clean, we found bugs everywhere and they were not dead. The kitchen cabinets were not cleaned and there were no screens or locks on our ground level apartment windows. Needless to say we spent most of the day cleaning what someone should've already done.
Our car has been broken into and our radio stolen. We also had crack in our ceiling that leaked water and it took maint. 2 hours to come and "fix it." The police have been called to our area at least 4 times since we moved in 8 months ago. Mostly for domestic issues. Classy. The Roeland Park police department refer to it as "the projects." The don't care about fixing thing other then where the models are and right at the front. The parking sucks because everyone with their ghetto 1995 Beretta takes up 2 spots because they wouldn't want their craptastic car being hurt. It takes them forever to come fix the littlest things if they fix them at all. There are potholes everywhere and when asked about them they tell you "it's the cities job to fix it." We really don't feel safe there so we put another deadbolt on our door.
Let's not even start with the office staff. The old manager was horrible and while I haven't really met the new one, anything has to be better that what they had. There was only really one person who I thought actually cared about our problems and she went to another location. We cannot wait to move out and find someplace that acutally screens their clients. For example, the people who used to live above us didn't speak any English, that wasn't really the problem, the were here illegally and got evicted. They had like 5 people living in a 2 bedroom apt. They were loud, rude, and dirty.
