Years at this apartment: Pre-1980 - 1979
I lived there in the 70's when they were then known as Arrowhead Apartments. Many of the units were first built while I lived there and they were top-notch back then! I lived in a large 2 bedroom, 2 bath just accross from the swimming pool. They were called Arrowhead to promote the Kansas City Chiefs and in those pre-cable TV days, had a very large TV antenna by the Clubhouse to pick up Chief home games from a Topeka TV station. Arrowhead was viewed as "state of the art" back then and all of the buildings were given individualized Indian names to keep with the theme. I loved going to the special billiards room, which was just to the left once you walked in the front door of the "Chiefs Den", the name of the Clubhouse. There was a strong sense of community and my dad was hired as a social director (he worked on-air at a KC radio station then). They had community pool parties, picnics, etc. You could also say I'm a bit biased since my stepmom worked at the rental office, but it was a great place!
I visited them while staying in KC in the early 90's and although obviously older looking, the complex still looked pretty good.
I'm sorry to read some of the comments on this list, but do see where Carlyle won an award for best property renovation!
Back in 1973 as Arrowhead, I'd give all "5's". Today, I'm sure with age and the change in demographics of the area, I'd give it "3's".
