I lived in Hampton Woods for a year and I loved the apt at first. I actually wrote a review in 12/2004 called "Nice Apartment." Well, that soon changed. When summer hot, our air conditioner never worked. Our apt. was never, NEVER, under 75-80 degress inside. That may not sound like a big deal, but my husband has MS and heat is a huge contributing factor for relapses. The maintenance ladies were very nice and I saw them at least twice a week when they were there to "fix" my air. They told me that the entire unit needed to be pulled out and replaced but that there was no way the management would ever do that. So instead, I had to call every week to have them come clean it out or charge it so that it would at least work a little. We originally signed an 18 month lease, but the apt office was so stupid they sent us a letter telling us that our lease was up at one year. We jumped at the chance to move out. After moving out, we got a notice from them saying they charged us $70 for some part they needed to replace. That wasn't a huge deal, except that we paid a security deposit. When I called to talk to them, I spoke to the black lady that worked there, I think her name was Tracy. She told me that if I had a copy of our lease, I could see that we only paid a non-refundable administrative fee and not a security deposit. She obviously underestimated how organized I am b/c I got our lease out, looked at it, and called her back to tell her that it specifically says that we paid a security depsoit and the admin fee. Then she told me that there had been some mistake and they had never collected the security deposit from us and we had owed them a balance the entire year we lived there. She said that I would need to provide proof that we had paid the full amount. Once again, she didn't relaize how organized (and untrusting of dumb people like her) I am. I had proof in the form of the cancelled check that we had given them when we moved in. Before I called her back again, I called there corporate office to make a serious complaint about her harassment of us. I called her and told her that I had a copy of teh cancelled check and that we didn't owe them money, they owed us a refund of the remainder of our security deposit. This lazy witch actually had the nerve to tell me that she needed me to get a letter from my bank for her b/c all their records were in boxes and it would take her a long time to find it. I told her good luck and called their corporate office again. The apt. manager, who was very nice, called me about ten minutes later and apologized for the confusion and said it was an error on their part. I told him how rude that woman had been and he apologized for her and said that if I needed anything else to ask for him and he would handle it. This dumb lady obviously had absolutely nothing better to do b/c she called me AGAIN about twenty minutes later telling me to bring my copy of the cancelled check up to her. I told her exactly where she could go and asked for Don, the apt manager. She finally transferred me to him and he told me he was extremely sorry, he didn't know why she had called me again, that he did not need my copy of the cancelled check b/c they had their own copy and he promised she would never call me again.

You are absolutely correct in your assesment of Tracy!! Not only is she the rudest woman I have ever met, the most incompetent!! I tried for months to get her to change my due date to the 10th of each month instead of the 5th, being I didn't get paid until the 10th, and each and every month I would get a notice and/or a nasty phone message saying I was late and that I had to pay a $100 late fee. (CRAZY LATE FEES!!!) Needless to say, my niceness didn't work, so I started yelling at her to stop calling me and she would get the money when I did and ---- the late fees, I would just pay them. They sure do love their late fees. I certainly hope her --- gets fired soon, I still have a little over a month on my lease left, and can't wait to leave!!! Worn out-n-pissed off.
