I am a current resident at Hampton Woods. My experience there in the beginning was very good, but things started to change. Everyone seemed nice, and the maintenance was pretty quick on getting the jobs done. Just recently I had gotten married to someone who was also living on the property. We both had our own seperate apartments when we met. The staff in the office told us that once we got married then we were able to go through with a transfer fee and vacate one apartment. Not the case. We got married, and was forced to pay off the remainder of his rent on his lease. We were paying for two apatments at 755 a month, and one was completly empty! Before, they told us they would do everything they could to accomidate our situation and make it work. Just a little transfer fee would have saved us a couple thousand dollars. They suck the money out of you, they take whatever they can. I do think the complex is beautiful, that is what sold me from the get go, but a lot can happen. Don't let the looks fool you. My husband and I left out of town for thanksgiving to come back and see his car was stolen. I've heard there were complaints about that before. Vandalism to the mail boxes and news stands happened too. We are currently looking for a house to move into now, and I don't think I would recommend this complex to anyone. It's okay, if you want your car stolen. Who does that'' Right before Thanksgiving''' The noise gets pretty bad too. I live on the ground floor and my neighbors upstairs stomp around all the time. I know thats to be expected when you live at an apartment, but it gets to be too much, so the insulation isn't all that wonderful. I once got a noise complaint when I wasn't even home!! So sound does travel. Fireplaces are a nice touch.
