I lived there some time ago. The maintenance at the time was great, but it has switched up a bit, as has the management. Be very weary of the young leasing agent in the complex, has been known to invade your personal space. I understand they will rent to almost anyone as long as you are a sweet talker (especially if you are a single white male). And what is up with the RED doors' They were painted by some tenants a few years ago (to work off their rent) - for breast cancer awareness month, but never repainted to the normal color. And the cameras put up for safety, aren't real. Nothing is ever recorded - except for the cameras next to the office.

In response to this review I would first like to say that we do not rent to just anyone because they are "sweet". Everyone has to qualify in order to live here. The red doors have been repainted and everyone agrees they look great. As for the "young leasing agent" we have had a few young leasing agents and I can assure you that no one is entering the apartments unless given permission. I would like to know why it took this past resident 4 years to make this review, and to do it without getting any updated information.

you must be in management. of course you will defend the place because you want to fill units and make money. no apartment manager will bad mouth their own complex due to this.
i can name about 18 past tenants that had nothing but bad problems with el conquitador apartments. I went to one girlfriends place one day after a rain and her basement apartment was ankle deep in water. did you guys ever fix the foundation? no. i ment the new tenants after they moved and of course there apartment flooded after it rained as well. when they moved it continued to happen to the next family and so on. and of course each new tenant was never made aware of the water problems. also you have known sex offenders living there.( i checked)

I am the manager...Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I would like to comment on the sex offender issue that was reported in the last response. There are no sex offenders living here! You can check at familywatchdog.us and you will see the last response is not based on fact.

Dear manager.... Yes, in fact, you did have a registered sex offender living there for some time. I did check. However, according to familywatchdog, you are correct. You currently do NOT have any registered offenders there. And I am sure since this issue has been brought up - there will be no more. This is a good thing for everyone involved.
And, qualify to live there???? This is a joke, right? Yes, maybe for some, but for others, a co signer always works. So, if you don't qualify & you do have a co-signer - and are young, male & ready to party it up with a certain someone from the office staff - You are in like...Well, like many. Have fun (with her) - and good luck. I don't pity anyone who has read these reviews & then chooses El Con. You get what you pay for - remember that.
And, about the maintenance.... They do what they are told. They give everything a temporary FIX. Nothing is a permanent fix. But, it is not maintenance's fault. They only have so much lead way with the management - so much they can work with. Example - instead of management paying for a replacement pipe, and pipe fittings & whatever else is needed to replace a corroded leaky pipe... They will do it the cheap way. Duct Tape!!! Duct Tape is cheap and temporarily fixes everything! I know this personally, first hand - I have seen behind the scenes there at ElCon years ago.
