I lived here for a year and had numerous encounters with unwanted guests -- MICE! I actually saw a mouse of two separate occasions and heard them scratching in the walls a few times. During the summer I had a weird jumping bug that seemed to be coming from the padio door area -- but they were EVERYWHERE! PLUS, there was a constant problem with silver fish bugs on the walls and ceilings. They have VERY POOR pest control.
My KCPL bill was ridiculous because of the very bad insulation of the units. The garages are a joke. It's good not to have to scrape your car windows, but they weren't secure or heated and you share with other residents.
Overall, my studio unit was a total waste...I paid $605 in 2007/early 08. Oh and then at the end of my lease they were going to hike my rent up $50 (I guess the mice needed to pay too)!
My advice: Run don't walk away from Pinegate!!!

I wonder why this person reported this as anonymous....because this is a joke. To have that many pest problems, the house MUST have been unkept. One cannot blame uncleanliness on the pest control. I am not a clean freak and have lived (in more than one of these apartments) at Pinegate for almost 2 years, and they have always done free scheduled preventative exterminations that have always kept bugs out of my apartments. The garages are GREAT. You do not have to pay $50-100 extra like most other places charge. Yes, they are shared but everyone keeps to their own area, and all of the garages have brand new locks on them so they are definitely secure. The studio apartment is GREAT. It has a FREE washer/dryer and garage, an enormous closet and a bathroom that a lady actually has room to get ready in. This is definitely worth every penny. I have turned down many other offers because I cannot seem to part from all of these amenities. I am looking into the 2 bedrooms in this community though. They are newly renovated with brand new countertops and very nice appliances!

I moved and had no pest problems so it wasn't uncleanliness for your information. I stated my experience...end of story. Sounds like you're part of the management team kkelsey! If you're so happy why are you randomly on this site??????????????

I don't know if you noticed, but people can also post positive ratings here too. Its the craziest thing....there are happy people too! Maybe you wouldn't know anything about it....Hope you and your bugs have fun in your new apartment dirty lady :) You know they can move with you right? Bugs love cardboard, as a matter of fact you could have brought your silverfish with you originally. I am sure everyine involved is happier with you in a new apartment:)

I have to agree with Anonymous! My daughter moved in around the second week of July 09. The apartment is infested with BED BUGS. They had replace the carpeting, but They are everywhere. She has well over 100 bites. They refuse to reimburse her for all that she had to throw away due to the bugs! Also, her air conditioner only worked sporadically. Their answer...stick a big old nail in the fuse box and she was to wiggle it when the AC stopped working....dangerous to say the least and possibly crimanal. Caused sparks!!!!! She asked for the months free rent as well as pest removal. They are paying ofr the pest control but told her to take them to court for damages. I would avoid this place like the plague!!!!
