I'm leaving this month after two years and am exstatic. This is cheap, but that's the only good thing about it. This place is a half-way house for people from mental institutions and they've all got case workers, but still...be ready for some unsettling stuff. Also, you have to put all your maintainance requests in writing, even for very basic things, like heat and working appliances to store your food. There are ants EVERYWHERE. The laundry machines don't work and haven't since I moved here 2 years ago. My heater broke in the dead of winter with a newborn in the apartment and the maintainance people just came and went without leaving any notes OR fixing it... Also, my apartment has been entered without notification or consent on several occassions- some more embarassing than others-. We are threatened with eviction for having something about the size of a mini fridge delivered- a freestanding appliance-... it's nowhere in the lease that we are not allowed to have this, the manager just had nothing else to do than wander and intimidate the parking lot people. Even though he said he doesn't care and he's still going to evict me I haven't heard anything about that court date in 6 months. I've never in over 2 years paid my rent late or caused any trouble, so I can only imagine how mean he is with tenants that "aren't perfect". They don't take care of maintainance, and are just generally rude and unprofessional to the point that I considered breaking my lease and just eating the impact to my credit. So glad to be leaving. Good luck if you lease here... it CAN be done, but please be careful and just be prepared.
