I lived in my apartment for 2 years without any problems.I loved my spacious floorplan, the washer and dryer, and the french doors that lead to the balcony. The only issue I had was I can hear everything going on in all of my neighbor's apartments when they are doing normal, everyday things like walking, talking, television, telephone, alarm clocks...EVERYTHING...because the walls are so thin and the insulation is terrible. Also, I lived above 2 garages...one of them was occupied by Corey, a lease agent. It seemed to me that her boyfriend/husband (whatver) LOVED to rev his motorcycle engine early in the morning. It was SO inconsiderate. But of couse, she doesnt get penalized since she works in the office. One time, her motorbikes were leaking gasoline and the fumes filled up my ENTIRE apartment. That was extremely dangerous. Anyway...some new neighbors had moved in above me. They were very noisy for the first two months, but I did not make any complaints because I assumed it was because they are getting settled and moving in furniture.
After the two months, the noise levels did not go down, in fact, they got worse. It sounded like they had children who loved stomping and throwing bowling balls everywhere. I work third shift from so since I sleep during the day, the amount of noise they were making was disturbing my sleep. I am also a full time student, so these noises also disturbed my concentration when I needed to focus on my assignments. I have tolerated normal noises like hearing my neighbors walking, hearing their television, talking...etc, but the extreme noises they were making were ridiculous!!! I tried to notify the office, but they never answer the phone and I believe that my complaint voicemails were deleted and never listened to since the issue was never resolved. I resorted to calling the police on my neighbors because they make sure the issue is resolved immediately. Now after I made that police complaint, I started receiving notices from the office saying I have been playing music at 3a.m. and it is disturbing my neighbors. This makes no sense AT ALL to me since I am at work at that time, so I went up to the office and explained how this music could not be coming from my apartment since I am at work during that time, I even offered to provide proof. The agent at the office I spoke to is named Corey, she stated I should not worry about it, and that she told the person complaining to call the police next time it happens, and basically told me to disregard the notice. I received a few more notices with the same complaint throughout April and May, I disregarded them because I didn't take them seriously since I knew it was not me. I received a cure or leave notice that said if I don't remedy the situation within 14 days, my lease will end in 30 days and a few days later, I received a notice to quit. I went back up to the office and talked to Leeanne, the complex Manager, I explained how I work overnight, and that music is not coming from my apartment. I also explained that I do not have anyone else in my apartment playing music, the only thing on when I am gone is my television and its on low volume. If that was what the neighbors were complaining about, that is not my problem since I have no control over the walls being extremely thin. I've always had my TV on low, and if the neighbors can hear it, that's an issue that needs to be taken up with the property managment...not me. When I turn off everything during the day to go to sleep, I can hear everything going on in their apartments too. I just don't complain over those type of noises because I understand that the walls separating the apartments are very thin and we don't have control over that. She told me she understood and to disregard the notices.
Everything was fine for about 2 months until one weekend, I had a break from work so I wanted to stay home and catch up on my school work and my sleep. My neighbors above me had an extremely loud party that sounded like people running, jumping, screaming, on the balcony making ridiculously loud bumping noises and dropping food onto my balcony that I had to clean up later. This disturbance lasted all day and did not end until 11pm that night. I was not able to sleep or concentrate on my school work that entire day. I went upstairs several times to tell them to keep the noise down, but nobody would answer the door. I left a voicemail for the office complaing about the noise and advised I will call the police if the noise did not stop by midnight. I left that voicemail around 10:30pm. The noise did stop before midnight, but it began again around 8 a.m the next morning and it woke me up from my sleep. I was very frustrated and made a noise complaint with the police. The noice quieted down around 1p.m. and I was finally able to relax. Then, I received a cure or leave notice from the office on that Tuesday telling me someone had made a noise complaint on me. I'm was VERY upset because I was not making ANY noise whatsoever. I came to the conclusion that the neighbors above me were just bitter about me calling the police on them so many time, and they're using their lying powers to get me in trouble with the management since they saw how well the management responded to their complaints and disregarded mine. I tried to stop by the office or call Leeanne, the manager, she puts on a front like she's too busy and that she would call me back. She NEVER called back. TWO WEEKS went by before I could even explain my side of the story to her. These false accusations were made by the people upstairs because they were so bitter about me calling the police on them everytime their noise levels got out of control. I was able to work out an agreement with Leeanne to let me break my lease and leave without any penalties. But seriously, that situation was RIDICULOUS! I thank God I don't have to deal with that stress anymore.
Also...this complex has a serious problem with huge potholes showing up in various areas of the parking lot. There were also 3 or 4 parking spots blocked off for over a year due to them sinking in and cars getting stuck in the wintertime.

Oddly enough, I know right where you were, and the problems you are referencing. Sadly, I totally agree with this person. I have been terribly disappointed since my last post, (about 8 months ago). It starts out fine, but many problems surface without any resolution by the apartment management. Cars getting vandalized, noise from all sides, etc. I wouldn't discourage people who need a lesser expensive living location from living here, but definitely be aware of what you are getting into. There is a reason the place is more than affordable, and in this case, it is the things you don't get, that you wish you COULD pay for.

I had the same problem except that when I called the police on the woman living above me, she came to my apartment (while I was seven months pregnant with my third child, no less) and when I opened my door she started screaming that she was going to "Kill me and my children." Fortunately, the police arrested her for assault and she was evicted that month.
It took six months for me to get someone to listen to my complaints. This woman, who claimed she was a nurse, had parties every night of the week and her five year old daughter was apparently jumping from the countertops to the floor - which resulted in sounds like a herd of elephants walking across her floor.
I lived there for two miserable years. The happiest day of my life was moving out of that horrid place. It is a ghetto and nothing more. Your apartment falls apart within weeks of living there....the manager shows you a brand new apartment, and then when you move in - you get a sub-standard apartment, that is falling to pieces before your eyes. Cheap and shoddy workmanship.
Also, the leasing agents and the managers there must have no customer service training (or they are brainless...). They lost my rent check TWICE.....
DON'T move here. It is the worst apartment I have ever lived in....and the rates aren't good enough to sacrifice the unreasonable stuff that you have to tolerate to have the "cheap" rates. You've been warned.
