Where to I begin' First off, I can hear my upstairs neighbor do everything - watch tv, walk, talk on the phone, urinate. The floorboards above are so old that they crack, pop so loudly you'll swear your neighbor is going to fall through the floor, and the noise keeps me up at night. The grass patches outside the building is covered with dog feces...you can't walk in the grass because there are piles of poo everywhere and it reeks. During the "million dollar remodeling" THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT LOST THE KEY TO MY APARTMENT - and I had to send a certified letter to the property manager to request my lock be changed. The maintenance department insisted that no one would be able to figure out what apartment the lost key went to and that simply making a copy of the key I had in my possession would be good enough. I spent two months taking lukewarm showers and a maintenance guy came to my apartment 6 times and tried things such as "adjusted showerhead" or "replaced showerhead" according to the written reports he left me. Finally I consulted my father (not a professional by the way), he told me what he thought the problem was, and I relayed that info to the maintenance department. Then and only then was the shower fixed. Turns out the problem was a very common and very easily fixed one: a heating element had gone out in my water heater. I could go on and on about the various problems I encountered in my one-year stay here, but what you really need to know is that if you can afford a nicer complex, move there instead.
