Wonderful family environment, great schools, close to shopping and easy highway access, plus the staff cares about our comforts.

I have lived in The Retreat of Shawnee for almost 4 years, formerly Cedar Tree Apartments. I did not like the old management at all, they did not care to perform maintenance or help with tenant issues...some buildings were water damaged and had mold issues, drug users were taking over several buildings, and staff were stealing from the tenants...it was becoming horrible, if the rent was not so low and location so great I was going to move. Then Cres Management bought the property...it has all changed!!!!! For the better...we have newly remodeled buildings...painting and siding all buildings, new landscaping, new washers and dryers in each apartment, new decor - modern lighting fixtures, interior paint and carpets, tile and bathroom fixtures, the office has been remodeled...it is beautiful, with a new business center - computer has Windows 2000 with high speed internet plus a copy/scan/fax machine - also has wireless hotspot access for free with a great - very knowledgeable - female computer trainer who does in home computer repair for next to nothing, the swim pool is indoor/outdoor and heated during the winter/spring/fall with 2 hot tubs and wonderful pool side lounging and tables...feels like you are in a 4 star spa, plus a new fitness center with female trainer 3 days a week, and a new private tanning bed. The staff is always ready to assist with any issues, whether it be maintenance issues or just adding new ammenities or updating apartment features. They have alot of activities for kids and tennants monthly gatherings and every other weekend the kids meet for the Monster Club...they make arts and crafts for 2 hours. The schools are close by, walking distance for K-9...great Shawnee schools...plus there is a dollar theatre, 2 grocery stores, 3 gas stations, 3 liquor stores, a BigLots and Dollar General, several fast food restaraunts, and several great dining establishments, animal clinic, and a shopping center. The highway access is great...I-35 is 2 lights away, 3 mile access to 435, 169, and 69 highways. What more could you ask for' The price is great, the tennants are happy, schools are the best, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the place looks wonderful.

LOL. Oh my god. I've never seen anything so funny -- what a cheap attempt by the office. Have you EVVEEEEEEEEEEER met anyone who is as "into" the amenities as this person? LOL.

I moved in there in September, 2005 and I really like it there. It IS close to the highway and everything I need is close by. It's a great location. And the maintenance staff gets things done quickly, like fixing my dishwasher. It's a good apartment for the price.
