Don't Do It
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 3/13/2007
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
We have lived here for almost a year and can not wait to move. Most of what I wrote on my move in inspection was never fixed. I did finally get a couple of crucial things fixed, but that was after six or eight calls. Each time I was told it would be fixed in the next day or two, but it wasn't. There is very low hot water pressure and the drains are very slowly.
The noise is just completely out of control. I can literally hear my neighbor coughing every night. That is when someone's music isn't on or their dogs aren't barking, which is rarely. I reported the noise to the office and was told to call the police. They do not enforce or even pretend to care about a noise policy. My building is rarely without a party no matter what time of the night or what day of the week it is. There are beer bottles, beer cans, vomit (seriously), trash, etc., all over the lawn on the weekends.
However, no one really needs to call the police. They are here continuously, literally every single day and/or night. There are clearly more serious problems going on here than noise. The tv camera crews have been here twice in the last year. The first time it was for a brutal rape, the second for an attempted rape. There was also an armed robbery one block away at the Dollar General.
The snow removal is not very good. There is no balcony or storage. The way the apartments are set up people walk right in front of your living room window to get to their apartment, so you can never have your curtains open. The laundry facilities have been in such disrepair that I stopped using them months ago. There is also water all over the floor everytime you try to use the facilities. Also, beware that they fail to mention until after you've moved in that a water charge will also be added to your rent each month.
The actual interior of the apartments are pleasant and it is cheap, but the drawbacks are many. I realize apartments are apartments, but this place has the downtrodden feel and element of the slums. I would especially urge a single woman not to move in. We found a much nicer apartment in a much nicer neighborhood for $40 less per month. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
