The cockroaches were a serious problem as soon as my husband and I moved in. We complained about it and they sent in the exterminator the next time he was in. Nothing died. I asked about it and the manager said it will take some time. After 3 times of that rotion of extermanating every 2 weeks, we still had a serious cockroach problem. I started to complain quite often. Around once a week. There was one apartment manager that actually responded to my emails and sent Foggers home with me on 2 occasions. She only worked there for 2 months. I had no idea that the managers are swapped out every 2 or 3 months. Just all of a sudden the manager no longer responded to my emails. I went to the office and asked if I could bomb my appartment again, thats when I found out that there was a new manager ( which wasn't responding to my emails, I asked what her email address is and it was the same) After about a month and one spraying from the exterminator I get a note on my door saying I was being evicted. This is completely illegal by the way you need to evict people through legal channels, you need to take them to court to evict them. I called the manager and asked her why. She said because of rubbish. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about. I keep all my food in ziplock bags or in the refridgerator, I wash my dishes as soon as I'm done eating, I take out the trash every other day, and vaccum two times a day. I even bought a carpet cleaner to manage any in depth dirt in the carpet. I then told her to go and inspect the apartment right away. My husband works at home and is there all day. I told her to even "just show up and surprise him" so she could get a great idea on how the apartment is on a regular basis. She did. My husband told her all the things I had said and even added that the roaches are so problematic that we drink from empty water bottles that we refill cause we can't use normal cups. She pointed out that we had some storage in our apartment. My husband asked "where am I supposed to keep my stuff'" she said not in here. She then said "You have laundry next to the washer and dryer."(there was a washer and dryer in the unit so she wasn't talking about an apartment was room, it was in the apartment) My husband asked "Isn't that where you keep the laundry you are doing' where should I put it untill its done'" she said "Not in here." ( as a side not it didn't matter where you kept any of that stuff it was going to get destroyed by roaches in that apartment.) My husband pointed out that the roaches were coming from the cracks in the corner where the cieling and walls met. all around the entire apartment. He then pointed out that we don't live on the cieling but on the floor, and I'm pretty sure that since theres some one home all day that our apartment has more cleaning work done to it than her house. He then asked "what do you want me to do to the apartment to make it however it is that you want, tell me so we can move past this "Rubbish" stigma you have'" She said don't do anything we'll have the exterminator come in and we'll inspect with him. It never happened. I called her several times through out the month of "Eviction" which is illegal cause I was not served any legal paper work or summoned to any courts this was just thier own paperwork, and asked her "So I'm being kicked out of my apartment over a basket of laundry right'" with a prompt "yes" followed. They then charged me for the full rent and are telling me that I still need to pay for the Contracted amounts. I can't wait to go to court with these people I've kept all my emails, all thier emails, all the notes left on my door, all the photo's from prior to me moving out and the ones of the move out. I have gotten a lawyer and am going to try to get a class action law suit on these people for destroying over 10,000 dollars worth of electronics because of neglagence, thier bugs are thier problem by kansas law. It's completely man made and preventable. Not a natural disaster. I will put up any information about such said lawsuit later in an edit.

Sounds like they were trying to force you out. It's good that you're retaining legal council because what they were doing with those rubbish notices was insane. I made sure I was there when they came to inspect again, cause I had some serious questions!!! I think I counted 15 notices on our building that day. Though, I get the feeling they realize they need to do something. The past two weeks a few units have been ripped to bare bones and have been renovated. I know one of the maintenance guys and he showed me everything they were doing to one unit that was near me. I think I might ask to switch units so they can rip this one apart too! Once they get hit where it hurts ($$$$) the management company will perk up and make the changes. This may not be a hotel and nicer places have issues too, but take pride in your work, right?

Kick butt and take names! These slum lords have to find out they aren't dealing with scared, ignorant (of their rights) illegals, but with educated citizens willing to fight back. I hope you bankrupt that company.
