I have lived here for over 4 years and I wholeheartedly recommend Tuckaway. It is beautifully landscaped and the apartments are fairly new, spacious, and in good repair. I appreciate that it's a gated complex - while crime is not impossible, there is significantly less crime here compared to that newer complex up the street. (If you wish to confirm this, please contact the Shawnee Police Department.) It is very convenient to Interstate 435 and Shawnee Mission Parkway and it is about a 25 minute drive to downtown in typical traffic. Pets are welcome. Most of the residents are in their 30's to 50's - college-aged kids who want a place to "par-tay!" should look elsewhere.

I am dismayed that an apparently disgruntled person has repeatedly posted negative comments here, unfairly driving the rating down. (Frankly, I don't believe a word of it.) I cannot say enough nice things about the property. No, the managers (brother and sister) perhaps aren't the cuddliest people in the world. However, they have always promptly addressed repair issues and I have no reason to take their demeanor to be anything more than professional detachment.
