I transferred from out of state to the Kansas City area. I was told that Johnson County was where I wanted to live. I was pretty disheartened until I saw Tuckaway. Once I toured the model home, I was sold. The rent is reasonable and you get a huge apartment with a full size washer and dryer. There is plenty of storage space and the set up gives the feeling of privacy. I look back onto the equipment storage lot and I couldn't be happier. Typically the trees block the view, but it's quiet and that is the best part. I don't really hear my neighbors, which is always important to me. I haven't had any maintenance issues, and the few small calls I made in the beginning were addressed right away. The community is beautifully landscaped. The only thing I'd like to see is recycling offered on the property. Luckily it is close (less then 5 minutes) to the recycling Center up 435 2 exits. I have never used the pool but I have used the fitness center and it is nice. I have never felt unsafe in this area nor did I ever worry about preheating my car on those frosty winter mornings. It is convenient to major shopping and grocery stores and it is easy access to the highway. It is perfectly located for me to commute to work because I take 435 to 70E over taking Shawnee Mission to 35, which can be pretty sluggish. By taking 70 to Kansas City, traffic is rarely an issue and my stress levels are low for commuting. There was only a brief period of 2-3 weeks where I was having trouble parking in front of my apartment and that was only if I came in late (10pm). I think whoever had the multiple cars has since moved out. I am being transferred again out of state and my biggest disappointment is not being able to take this apartment with me. I have to pay considerably more for a lot less square footage, stackable washer dryers or none at all and less desirable neighborhoods. I have yet to find a value like I have here at Tuckaway, and I am sad to leave.
