I had some time to kill today and got to rooting around on the internet and ran across this website. From the previous review it seems as though Mr. and Mrs. Krankypants weren't happy that the children in the area were blowing off fireworks. I've lived here for a number of years and have enjoyed our little cul-de-sac. Mind you, people have come and gone and I've seen a few wild ones, however, the group that are living here now are a wonderful group of people. Each and every time I have called over or have visited the leasing staff they have met me with a warm welcome. Equally as such, Tom and James are quick to respond to my maintenance needs and are thorough with the problem resolved immediately. Perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Krankypants were having a bad day when they wrote their review, perhaps a bad headache or whatever, but, I am here to tell everyone that this group of townhomes near 34th and Fairlawn are a fabulous place to live and are relatively safe compared to other areas of Topeka. The statement of "this area has been targeted as a bad neighborhood" is in haste and one persons opinion.
The Property Manager and her staff are professional to a fault and I would live no place else in Topeka. I highly recommend our townhomes!

I am a single mom and have lived in these townhomes for almost a year and I submitted the previous post. I guess you could call me Ms. Krankypants :). The problems I have had with the townhome and management are probably not unique but I certainly think that everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am happy to hear to someone likes living here. My beef with the noise levels stem from the fact that the constant circling of the helicopter over the neighborhood often keeps my child awake and the firecrackers shot off until 2am several nights in a row were a real treat. During the day the area is very calm and peaceful but I personally have seen police cars four times on this street in the last couple of months, once along with investigators accompanying them, and that is too much in my opinion. Our lease expires next month and we are happy to say that we are moving away from the Sunny Side of Topeka. All those that we are leaving behind, enjoy this wonderful place.

Dear BadTownhomes single mom,
The police helicopters are required to travel throughout the entire city of Topeka and they give a significant amount of time on Burnett's Mound (location of a city park) and they also check the park located at the end of Fairlawn before it turns in to 37th street. Also, there are several housing developments in the area that have neighborhoods with youth and children. If the fireworks really bothered you and your children, then perhaps you should have called your local police department and they could have come out to investigate. That is what they are there for. There are local laws and ordinances with respect to fireworks. Police cars will travel up and down each street when they are in the area to make certain that there is nothing amiss. Perhaps your neighbors have specific needs and that is why the police were there. From the sounds of your rebuttal, your original complaint doesn't even reflect what you stated the second time. It makes a person wonder what is really going on with you and it doesn't sound like it is the townhomes or the managements fault. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am here to clear the air just a bit further.
