Could be better, could be worse

I have lived at Summit Woods for two years now. I really love the layout of my apartment (2 bed, 2 bath), as they are spacious and nicely decorated (e.g., crown molding, "marble" counter tops, etc.). I love that I have a washer and dryer in my apartment. The apartment is very energy efficient and stays very warm in the winter. My utilities have never been over $100/month. The maintenance staff is always very friendly and quick to respond to my calls, and maintenance is on call 24 hrs. a day. The office staff is friendly if you let them know quickly that you are not going to tolerate them being rude to you. They are one of the few apartments in Topeka that allow two dogs. Now on the the things I don't like... first of all, we have horrible bugs in the summer! We get roly polies and millipedes really bad. The office staff are always quick to have someone come out and spray my apartment whenever I call, but I have had to request to have my apartment sprayed 5 times this summer. Second, I can hear absolutely everything my neighbor above me does. Again, I have contacted the office staff many times about this, and they are quick to contact my neighbor and tell him to be quiet (he has to be reminded to be quiet very frequently, however). I can also hear the people that I share apartment walls with. Third, the carpet in my apartment is really worn down (and has been ever since I moved it), and it looks really funny because the carpet in the corners of the rooms is all nice and fluffy (because no one ever walks in the corners!), while the rest of it is all flat and worn down. The walls scuff really easily. The hallways are always dirty and smell bad. The outside intercom (so people can call you when they are wanting to be let in) only works if you have a home phone. People are always getting their windows busted out in their cars in the parking lot. So basically, there are a lot of things that could be better, but overall, it's not a bad place to live.
