I've lived in Crown Chase for almost a year now.
These are the good things about Crown Chase.
Maintenance is great and very prompt and efficient about fixing things.
They (maintenance) always shovel sidewalks and salt the stairs after its snowed.


Bad things
The gate hasn't worked since I moved in. They tell people that its because somebody ran into it but I don't see why they think that means they don't have to fix it. When I moved in the bathtub was sunken in and rusted on the bottom, the carpet had several stains, and the tile flooring in the bathroom and kitchen is coming up. Also, I don't think its very well insulated because its always very hot in the summer and freezing in the winter. I always have a huge electric bill because of this.
All of these things would be fine except that the rent is OUTRAGEOUS! These are by no means luxury apartments but they are charging as if they are. There are things about them that make them nice but not nice enough to charge nearly $600 for a one bedroom apartment. I've been looking at all the other complexes in Wichita and it seems that the average price for one bedrooms in wichita is around $430 for nice ones. When my lease ran out a few months ago they raised my rent 30 dollars and said that the student discount is now only 10 dollars off instead of 20. I cannot wait to move out and get into a normal apartment. I've seen all of my friends apartments and theirs are just as nice as mine, if not nicer. Only their rent is anywhere from $400 to $450. Moving into Crown Chase was a HUGE mistake. If your'e rich then go for it, just don't expect too much because you won't get it.
