So-so--has its pros and cons

I lived in Fox Run from June '07 to September '08. The price for a 2 bedroom seemed very reasonable.
Construction:
First of all, as the last person said, look at YOUR apartment, not just the model. The model was of course, impeccable, but when we got into our apartment, we noticed it was incredibly cheaply constructed: the baseboards were literally pieces of wood painted white and attached to the wall, there was a large board attached to the wall in the master bedroom (possibly covering up a gaping hole' Never found out why), and you could still see where the workers drywalled and improperly taped and mudded the ceiling in the hallway. Having worked on houses a little, I could have done a much better job of patching things up. The bathtub had a stain in it from water that wouldn't completely drain, so no matter what we did, it never looked clean. It grossed me out at first but then I got used to it, I guess. The bedroom door would not stay open without putting something in front of it. Cheap doors, ugly cabinets.
Heating/Cooling:
Plenty of hot water. Air conditioner will always be running in summer due to poor insulation (and we had a 2nd floor apartment, which didn't help). Air vents are few and far between, so the master bedroom was always too warm even if the other rooms were cool.
Crime:
My girlfriend bought a new Saturn and it was broken into the first week she bought it (her window was smashed). Having said that, we never experienced any other break-ins, though once in awhile I would see piles of small shards of glass mysteriously in the parking lot as though someone's window had been shattered. The neighborhood is sketchy, but fairly safe, and having the 2 bedroom apartment, we lived near families, so we didn't deal with loud music or craziness. I checked out the crime statistics for the area and was surprised to find that there's a lot of crap going on that I did not expect...I think at least 600 incidences per year in a one mile radius of various crimes. But I never personally saw any crime committed, so I think it is at least relatively safe, and I jogged frequently through the neighborhood without problems.
Maintenance/Management:
They were fairly prompt. We had a few problems and the staff seemed to address the problems quickly.
As far as the management team goes, they were friendly and pretty helpful.
Rules:
The rent process annoyed me because I accidentally turned in the wrong amount on my check and they refused to accept it AND charged me an extra day's late fee because of it. I was pissed. But after that, I just made sure I turned in the exact amount and never had any problems.
Rent:
Rent was cheap but they jacked the rent up this year $50/month at the end of our lease (due to "market values in the area" and "operating costs"), hence why we left. I don't feel that it would be worth $575 a month, personally.
Overall, it wasn't a horrible place to live in, just cheap looking and cheaply built. If you don't smoke, count on burning incense or candles a lot if you have neighbors who smoke...the smell filters in. Other than that, if you plan on living here for a year or so, it's not too bad.

This is very true what you said about the smoking neighbors! I have had problems with that myself. I live on the first floor and am having to light candles!
