Dirty.. roach infested.. Madison Park Apartments.

I lived at Madison Park with my 3 yr old daughter while I was 8 months pregnant. We lived in our apt for 1 1/2 yrs. In the middle of June my A/C went out (mind you while I was pregnant) and upon calling the rental office they told me its not their problem and gave me the number of the actual property manager. I called him as well and got an answering machine. I spent 3 weeks in 104 degree weather with my child in the heat till they FINALLY fixed it. I constantly had roaches in my kitchen and mice underneath the kitchen sink. My breaker had issues where it would blow constantly and when it did on the weekend it was the worst! There is no emergency maintenance number to call to get it turned back on, and the breaker box for all the apartments is locked in the basement. So no lights for 3 days straight!!!! The maintenance crew also had to come in to fix a leaky pipe under my kitchen sink that was damaging the ladys apartment beneath mine (I guess she called with a maintenance request), and after fixing it they left a gaping hole where bugs kept crawling in and did not return to fix it for 3 months. And when they did they told me "they had forgotten and were truly sorry" Really.. 3 months.. I had to staple a trash bag over the hole to help keep the bugs out. I think in the entire time i lived there I spent WAY too much money on roach traps, mouse poison and bug spray trying to get the pests under control. I know for a fact the couple above me moved out because they were tired of dealing with the roaches. I had talked to them about it and was suprised to hear that they had a worse infestation then I. All in all it is the dirtiest and most poorly kept place I have ever lived. I was completely grossed out and the management is bad. They lie constantly about why they dont have the funds to get the equipment and parts they need to fix problems in the apartments. I ended up with a used breaker box that they swore was new (even though it was dusty and looked used) and the thing stopped working the third day after it was put in. Once again the apt drew too much energy for the box to handle I guess because it constantly blew the fuse. (It became a daily occurance that they could not fix). Also If you dont like being able to hear EVERYTHING your neighbors say then this is NOT the place for you. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything that goes on. Please do not move here, you'll regret it. And once your stuck in your lease.. YOUR STUCK!! BEWARE..

P.S. If you are looking for a good place to move Mt. Carmel Village has reasonable rates and I have never seen a roach yet.. and as for maintenance.. they are speedy and fix things promptly.
