I lived in Newport for a year and it was nothing great. It takes maintenance forever to fix a problem and the parking sucks. You will have to park away from your apartment and there's not much lighting. The pool is open year around but the heater never works. The interior of the apartments are nothing special. A week before you move in, come and check the apartment and make sure everything works. When I moved in, the carpet was damaged and the office staff said that they didn't know. I really don't believe that excuse because they inspect the apartments when you move out. Then my friends moved into another apartment, and they had the exact same problem with the carpet. They office told them the exact same thing. Some of the positives are, it's never real noisy and the office staff is o.k. I personally don't recommend Newport.
