This is the first apartment I've lived in after owning my own homes for 25 years. I've only lived here less than a month and just made my first rent payment. I've barely had time to move in and memorize my apartment number. I travel on business a lot and was away on the first of the month and wasn't able to pay my rent until the 5th (they were closed on the 4th). Without a smile, a question or an explanation, the front office attendant wanted an extra $40 on top of my overpriced rent because of the 5-day late payment. My apartment had a fresh dog pee stain on the carpet when I moved in, and was half clean. Some cars in the parking lot have been sitting in the same stall since I moved in, with flat tires. I moved into this place with an open mind, but if they want to treat me like a piece of crap as a new resident, I can't wait to see how I'm treated when I'm stuck in the middle of my lease. I could move out without notifying them without any regrets.
