This apartment complex sucks!

I lived in the apartment for a year for my lease to run out. I moved in the apartment in June 2000 and I moved out in June 2001. I was a first time renter, so I really was unaware that I was suppose to tell them that I was not renewing my lease. I just figured that since I did not renew my lease, the idiots would know that I was not planning on living there anymore. However, now, they say that I owe them $1428 because I did not give them written notice. All these people care about is money. It is pathetic and ridiculous!

Dear first time renter. I have lived at Riverpark for 15 years and religously 90 days before my lease expires I get a renewal letter that tells me what to do if I am going to move out at the end of my lease. I also get phone calls as well. You are apparently the idiot that can't read or have enough since to know that the office staff can't read the minds of over 500 residents. Get over yourself and grow up.

Ok guys. Kat, first of all, this person submitted this in 2003 - 2 years BEFORE your post. They have probably gotten things squared away by now. Second, an appartment complex CANNOT assume that you owe another years worth of rent - especially without written confirmation by signing another lease. If you didn't sign a lease renewal, then you have no obligations to pay more money.
