Somerset apartments are mismanaged to the point of uninhabitability. Maintenance is nonexistant. I've had issues unresolved for weeks at a time. Security is nonexistant. Noise complaints and such are flatly ignored.

In my two years of renting here, I've seen six different managers take over. Many issues are still unresolved. A number of apartments contain dangerous amounts of mold, but the owner refuses to fix any apartment that is currently inhabited. He only fixes apartments that are empty in hopes of luring new tenants. The electrical systems are notoriously bad. Some tenants are seeing $600 electric bills for running the A/C at 78 degrees. Many appliances need to be replaced, but don't count on the owner to do it.

Somerset has been featured in the Kansas state and local news due to a protest group that opposed the horrible living conditions. Check it out.

I cannot advise strongly enough against this complex. Do not live here. I am definitely not the only one who would offer this advice. If you're thinking about moving in anyway, talk to some of the tenants - their testimony will speak for itself.

My Wife worked there. The Owner is a slum lord and he goes around buying all this properties and all he cares about money Do you know no merchants in wichita will take his checks because they all bounce!
