I don't understand why this place is reviewed so negatively. I actually lived here for over two years.

I found Southlake on the internet before moving down here from Wisconsin. I spoke with Dawn, who was very nice and helpful, on the phone and by email before visiting Wichita. I came out and toured many properties before making a decision. So what made me choose Southlake over the rest' The lake and atmosphere! It didn't feel like just another apartment complex. It felt like living in the country with wide open views, a beautiful lake, and lots and lots of trees! It reminded me of where I had lived all my life (Oconomowoc, Wisconsin). And it was quiet. That's all it took to sell me so I applied and was accepted and moved in.

All I can say is that my two years there was pleasant and uneventful. I met most of the staff including the manager, Brent. I never had any problems with him or anyone else for that matter.

The maintenance was fast and the place was well kept. Heck, if I hadn't taken a job in Colorado Springs, I'd probably still be there. After moving out, I received my deposit back. It was fully refunded (which I expected as I'm somewhat of a clean freak.)

About the only negative thing I'd say is that they really need to plant some more grass in the front yards. I saw someone else had mentioned that, too. It's not a deal breaker but it's something that needs to be addressed. I think they are aware of it as I noticed they had been hauling topsoil in just a few months ago.

I recommend Southlake Village. I'd move here again if I ever end up back in Wichita.
