DONT MOVE HERE...ITS NOT SAFE!

So myself and a friend moved into Woodgate a year ago almost...We moved in a on a Wednesday, I remember it quiet well. And honestly, while my dad and brother moved me in, they kept telling me to be safe. My brother came up to me and said "get yourself a bat". I really didnt have a complete problem w/the place cuz it wasn't tooo bad. However, I didn't know what was in store. First of all, parking is a pain in the butt, I have a nice car and I wanted it to be under something and garuntee a spot. I was assigned car spot that was covered (paid extra for it) and later the week recieved nasty letters from someone else telling me to get out of their spot. I wrote them back saying that this was what I was assigned and that they were the ones that were parking in my spot. Myself and the other person went to the office (they went first) and complained about the situation. What ticked me off is not only did they give me the wrong spot, BUT the office didn't even contact me after the first person complained 2 days prior. Which ment that my car could've been towed and I would have to pay for the office's mistake. So that issue got resolved. The main issue I had with the place is that the week EXACTLY after we signed a lease (yes the following Wednesday!)...the shooting rampage happened in the buildings a little ways over. I'm sorry but shootings in an apartment complex...one of the bullets went thru the wall and actually KILLED a guy....through a wall'! common! seriously, thats not a safe area or apartment to be living in if ppl are going to be shot at or killed innociently. "it could happen anywhere..." yea it could...but it DOESN'T. and it definately shouldn't happen w/in a week of moving into a new place. I now live in another apartmnet (far from that one) and I've been here a year in August and there hasn't been soo much of a noise complaint here. Woodgate is not a safe place...dont rent here. I do not recommend it at all.

I was there for the shooting, in the same building in fact. We moved out shortly after the shooting and it took months and months to get my deposit back. There was some issue with the check being written out to them not me, I don't even remember. I even had to write to their corporate headquarters in New York City. Finally I got it back. I tell everyone my experience at Woodgate because I think the kind of business they are running is absolutely horrible.

I live in the apartment directly below the apartment where the shooter was. I'd just moved in like 2 weeks before the shooting. I still live there and a year and a month after that shooting there was another one in building 11 and then today so a year and a couple months after that shooting there has been another shooting/robbery/domestic dispute. I called the office to see what was going on and they told me it was an on going investigation and couldn't release that information. They wouldn't even tell me what building it was in! They are awful! On top of the crazy safety issues their maintenance people are horrible. The majority of my outlets are loose and when they came to 'fix' it they only replaced like 8 of the outlets!!! 8 out of what 20!!! ok and then one of my bedroom doors had a huge hole in it. They finally came out to fix it. They replaced the door but didn't stain it first so it was just this unstained door in an apartment of dark stained wood!! I talked to the office the same day and they told me they sometimes just do that and then stain it when the resident moves out. this was 3 months after I signed a 23 month lease!!!! needless to say its still there and nothing has been done about it. And there was the day the ceiling fell in on me above me shower. It took a week for them to even start fixing that. I have given up dealing with them. oh and they have horrible communication skills. Seriously they don't tell you anything of what is going on. If you have complaints against you or if something is wrong they just don't tell you. Its awful!!! Don't live here seriously!!!
