Pros
-somewhat cheap with the deals going on right now, I got a month of rent for free
-friendly office staff
Cons
-built in the 1970's, and it shows in the overall decay of the buildings and the huge heating/cooling bills
-electrical outlets allow anything with any weight to fall out of the plug (larger power sources for cable modems, etc.)
-windows constantly fogged, called in a maintenance request, but they were measured (and therefore cut) to the wrong size
-patio appears to have been painted at one time, but all the paint is chipping off and the wood is rotting really bad
-walls dirty and full of holes that were never filled in
-fridge door dented and broken, seals bad, shelves missing
-oven outdated and handle broken
-coaxial cable was broken inside and outside of the wall, took the cable guy 45 minutes to fix
-walls and ceiling are paper thin, i can hear the neighbors talking above me
-dogs crap EVERYWHERE and NOBODY CLEANS IT UP, this is a real peeve of mine and the office knows about it, but does nothing
-dogs are constantly barking, and the leasing office doesn't keep track of who does and doesn't have pets, so you can have a dog or cat, and they wouldn't ever know
-laundry room is basically 1 washer and 1 dryer per building, which isn't too bad considering nobody uses them due to the $2 cost that comes with each, so 1 load of laundry washed and dried would run you $4-5.
-sliding glass door bar doesn't reach (see pictures), so anybody could break in to any apartment by just picking the lock and going on in
Overall, I can't recommend this place. The staff says they try to do things, and they never get done. Their mail policy with large packages or things that need to be signed for is ridiculous. The whole area is obviously a slum. Nothing nearby is nice, definitely not a place for a small family or anybody who doesn't own a gun. Loud music plays at all hours of the night. There is constant yelling across the courtyards from one person to another because apparently people here lack common decency.
I have lived in some bad places before, but I would definitely pay the extra to get something newer, nicer, and safer.
