Westlink Village apartments are a quaint little bunch of apartments. When you first arrive it has a retro-ish feel, which is very comforting. We liked these apartments most because the washer and dryer was furnished. However, in the year we have been living here we have had these issues:

The glass sliding closet door in our bedroom is off the track and was never fixed.

The door for the linen closet fell completely off and it still comes off the track even after it had been "fixed"

The stove burns everything on one side of the oven. The food burns on the top not the bottom. Someone checked it out and claimed it was fine.

The air conditioning stopped working last summer because the air filter had not been changed.

The sink in the main bathroom has no water pressure.

The toilet in the main bathroom runs (unless you jiggle the handle).

We can smell the neighbors smoke below us. Everything we have stored in the bathroom cabinets smells like smoke now.

The washer stopped working and needed a completely new motor. Then it dripped for a week. Mysteriously it stopped.

We stopped getting hot water (just luke warm). Something is wrong with the water heater.

When we first signed a lease here they neglected to tell us that we would be paying all utilities (included in the rent). We knew we would be paying a pet deposit, but they neglected to tell us about the extra 10 dollars for the pet rent each month. SO our rent went from 599 to 629 when we decided to sign the lease. To renew, they raised our rent and our pet rent, because apparently when we signed we got a "special," but no one ever told us about that when we signed on there. We talked to other residents and they claimed that their rent has gone up about 100 dollars in the four years that they have stayed at Westlink Village. Needless to say, we are renting month-to-month and hopefully moving in the near future.

The atmosphere at Westlink Village is nice, the people are friendly, and things get fixed relatively quickly. So, if you don't mind having things randomly break down (it usually gets fixed) and having your rent raised every year, Westlink Village is not a terrible place to live. Just make sure and ask a lot of questions before signing the lease, so you understand what you are tied into.
