The Registry is the WORST place I have ever lived

Ive lived at the Registry for 7 months, during which time, I have not one good thing to say about it... listed below are reasons I would never recommend this place, not even to someone I dislike (its that bad)
1. The place has cockroaches (I have an appointment with the health dept this week)
2. The management are rude and dont know how to manage finances (right now their broke and cant afford to fix our appliances, I wonder what theyve been doing with our money)
3. They send out personal private messages about late fees on rent and stick it in the door
4. Ive never been late on the rent one time but somehow I get one of these notices on the door every month
5. Theres been reported over 13 breakins in vehicles within the past couple months (they havent done anything about it, but when they assumed stuff was being stolen from the "club" area they installed cameras)
6. They started charging for utilities, which they promise to include it in the rent. Weve started receiving an additional charge for utilities every month\
7. Ive had to call the police dept. 3 times about noise complaints because the management wont do anything about it.
8. If you have a problem and call them about it they tell you that the persons not there even though they are.
9. They change management every month, and promise that things will get better iin order to get people to sign a lease
10. They allow criminals to live here, and dont do a security check
11. Ive gotten harrassed by guys that live here
12. Both my roomates cars have gotten broken into.
13. Parking sucks! Theyve been leasing out parking to people who dont live here in order to make extra cash. This makes it really hard for people who do live here to find parking.
Im trying to save YOU the headache of living in a place like this. This is literally the worst place Ive ever lived in. THey rent is too high and they cant even treat us with respect. Instead they treat the tenats like kids. Dont sign a lease here, none of my roomates willl ever come back here and I cant wait for my lease to be up

As the initial GM of the Registry I will add the place has been cursed from the inception, both by poor planning and gradiose plans that neglected to take into affect the amount of cash it costs to start and manage a student apartment complex. The initial owner's solution-MIX STUDENTS WITH NON STUDENTS"-a very poor idea and that both I and the start up management company tried to persuade them NOT to do. I have went on to a successful career with a more student friendly company who does not mind spending extra money to ensure student lifestyle is maintained, consequently ALL our properties all over the US are already very close to being 100 % occupied EVEN ADVANCED LEASES FOR FALL 2009!!! What can The Registry do? Install REAL security gates, an aggressive security company, use student lifestyle community building and programming (can be inexpensive AND very effective if done correctly) stop leasing to non students, do security back checks on occupants and financial background students on co-signers, mandate a co-signer for any resident under 21, cater directly to special groups at WKU and most importantly BE ACCESSIBLE AT ALL TIMES!! It wore me out and of course some people did not like me, but since I was given no where near enough money to hire a proper staff and had to settle for less than experienced workers, I was litterally at the Registry from sun up to sundown, and I walked the buildings at least once a day, for three hours around. I also mandated student staff (one in each building like an RA but not as intrusive) walk their buildings and get to know their people. I recently was in Bowling Green and WOW IT LOOKS BAD AT THE REGISTRY!!! I would also dramatically drop the rates for the store fronts even to the point of offering certain business that cater to or appeal to students (a coffee shop, a copy center, a theme restaraunt or bar, etc) FREE leases of store front space for two years just to get the spaces occupied. And design some of the space in advance because as it is the "white box" (rentable business space that is untouched and must be altered by the leasee) is not attracting any businesses. I would admonish the current owners and management to remember Maslow' Hierarchy of Needs-safety and security is on the very first rung and must be successfully addressed before you can move on to more needs and desires. Good luck, Gary Conner
