I've lived here since August 2008 in a 4 bed/4 bath. I was really excited at first: they offered a $100 gift card if you signed a lease, a plasma TV is you filled an apartment, pets are allowed (with some restrictions), it's furnished, it's super close to campus, and you can paint the walls!

1. Not all apartments come with a balcony. Only building D has balconies, and the only people who seem to live in building D are frat/sorority people and athletes.

2. The rooms are not equal in size. I used to live at Campus Pointe, where the rooms were the same size, as were the closets. Not the case with the Registry. Some rooms are ridiculously smaller than others, and some closets are hardly big enough. It severely limits how much you can rearrange the furniture. Also, the rooms aren't assigned. My friend and I were promised the two rooms in the back of the apartment -- did not happen, because by the time we moved in, management had changed and no one remembered that we had requested rooms.

3. The gated parking structure was gated for a month before it apparently BROKE. Now the gates are wide open, and anyone can park at the top of the structure. What is the point of having our parking passes, which we can towed if we don't have on our car!, if all you have to do is park with the "visitors"''

4. When I lived at Campus Pointe, they did maintenance checks as well as pest sprays on a monthly basis. The Registry doesn't do this. I would report problems with lights constantly going out that we couldn't fix and it took them days before anyone fixed it. My washer broke on a Saturday with clothes still soaking in water, but the maintenance people don't work on the weekends so I had to wait until Monday before someone could come and look at it. It was Tuesday or Wednesday by the time he realized it was really broken and needed to be replaced, and it was Thursday or Friday when we got a new one. My hot water stopped working -- apparently only in our apartment -- on a Saturday, and again we had to wait until Monday for someone to fix it. Then they had to return Tuesday because they didn't fix it properly.

5. Speaking of those monthly checks and sprays the maintenance didn't do, we discovered ROACHES in our apartment. We notified the office, and they said someone might be able to come that day to spray. Someone did come, and he said, "Oh, you probably got them from a Wal-Mart bag or something, it happens. This should take care of them." Well, it didn't, because we found them again in our cabinet and fridge and had to throw out any and all opened food. We called them again and told them to send another person to spray, because the first time clearly didn't work. No one was sent. We called the Health Department before the Registry finally did anything more about it. It turns out one of the apartments near us is FULL of roaches, which is where ours were coming from.

6. There was at least one break-in where a Wii, a PS3, and an Xbox 360 were stolen. They changed the locks, which was good, but didn't tell anyone before hand, which was bad. Try going to class, locking the door, and coming back in two hours to discover you've been locked out of your own apartment and that you need to wait a half hour for someone to make a new key for you because they weren't prepared with new keys for tenants! And their checking was ridiculous: they asked for a driver's license, which we didn't have because we didn't drive to class, so when we couldn't provide it they said, "Oh, that's okay, we recognize you."

7. The people who live in my building are ridiculously noisy. But it's hard to make a complaint because when they're noisy, the office is closed and doesn't have a voicemail or answering machine for you to leave a message on.

8. The internet is a joke. The internet failed to work numerous amounts of times (not just the time during the winter storm), and it would take at least some hours to days before it was fixed. We called the office and the internet provider and were told the same thing: We're working on it. We were not compensated for the many failures, which is frustrating since the internet is included in our rent, and it is not outrageous to expect it to work!

9. Only some of the staff did their best with their job, which I certainly appreciated. However, more often than not, the people who were "helping" me were distracted by talking to their friends or playing on the computer.

10. I'm not a neat-freak, but the people who lived in my building were disgusting. On top of the noise problem, whenever people had parties, the next morning the stairways would be littered with alcohol bottles, cans, broken glass, an ungodly amount of cigarette butts, and vomit. This mess would stay for more than two days and then it would slowly be cleaned away. As far as I know, no resident was ever told off about the mess, and certainly no notices were made telling us to not litter. In addition, there's only one garbage dumpster, which apparently is too far away for most people to walk. People would leave trash bags outside their doors and by the trashcans.

So basically, LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE.

The registry is a ---- hole. The only thing that keeps it going is the fact that it's next to the campus.
