What a GREAT FIND!!!

First, let me say that I've only had my apartment here at Brook Run for two months--but what a great two months! Where do I begin'
I am a recently divorced professional with two young kids. It was important to me to find an apartment within the city limits of Florence and within the district that feeds Ockerman Elementary School. This narrowed my choices considerably.
For the money, I simply cannot imagine a better place in this area.
Staff:
I've met two wonderful ladies that work in the main office (one is an on-site manager and the other is a regional manager, I think) and they are ALWAYS friendly, seem very sincere, and have always helped me with whatever minor issues I've had with my place. I can't stress enough how important it is to me to have landlords/managers that seem to actually care about the tenants.
Maintenance:
The halls and grounds are kept reasonably clean. I've submitted work orders for repairs twice--once the repair was completed within 4 hours, the other time, the repair was completed instantly--the maintenance guy went up to fix it right then and there!!!!!!
Parking:
Although you're only supposed to park a maximum of two cars, you could probably park half-a-dozen. I've NEVER had a problem finding a spot right in front of my building!!!
Noise:
You can hear the neighbors a bit, but nothing out of the ordinary for a typical apartment complex. It's not like you can hear conversations through the walls or anything.
Construction:
O.K., these buildings are old. BUT, they seem to have been built well and although the apartments are nothing fancy, they are in good repair.
Little extras:
There is a pool (I haven't been here long enough to see it open) and a nice playground.
My favorite extra is the patch of woods and nice-sized creek that abutts the rear of the property--it is nice to take the kids into the woods to run around. I've also found some wonderful fossil specimens near the creek (the rocks down there are replete with them).
OVERALL:
If you're looking for the Ritz-Carlton and you're willing to pay for it, look elsewhere. But, if you're looking for a basic, yet spacious, apartment that is the best bang for your buck--look no further!!
