I just moved out of Florence Apartments after living there a year. Needless to say, my roommate and I did not renew our lease. But overall, it was ok.

My only complaints are the rules. Parking is terrible, and you only get two parking passes per apartment, even if you live in a three bedroom with three people. They make the third person park on the street. In parking on the street, my roommate had her tires slit.

When I lived there, we had the rudest manager ever, Jennifer, but she has since been fired or quit, I'm not sure which. But she was the worst, and complained about everything. She was one of the main reasons we couldn't wait to get out of there. Everyone there dislikes her, because she is so rude and hard to talk to. She is NOT a people person.

I only met the new manager Rose, once, but she was super nice.

On one occasion, my roommates and I had a friend staying with us for a few days, and I guess Jennifer noticed his car in visitor parking, and came to our apartment at like 9am and was loudly banging on the door. When I woke up and went to the door to see who it was and looked through the peephole, I discovered she wasn't knocking on the door, but KICKING the door. How rude. She then proceeded to tell me that our VISITOR was not to park in VISITOR parking anymore when he came and he had to park on the street or she would have him towed.

The tenants are overall not bad. We had some bad experiences with loud upstairs neighbors, but once they moved, and new people moved in, everything was fine. Everyone in my building was friendly, but I can t speak for other buildings. The only complaint is there is about 100 kids that live in the complex and every summer morning they are outside on the playground and in the pool, screaming at the top of their lungs. Pretty annoying if you live by the playground, but I suppose that would happen anywhere you went. There are also a lot of --------- and Africans, so if that type of thing makes you uncomfortable, this might not be the place for you.

Our friends used to live in the apartment across the hallway, but had to move because their apartment was infested with bedbugs. They moved to a different building and someone moved in shortly after, who was also infested with bedbugs. If you choose to move here, do not live in apartment #305. You will get bedbugs.

Maintenance is fast and thorough. I never had a probably with them. They are also friendly.

The apartments overall on the inside, are okay looking. The dry walling is pretty shoddy and you can see the tape running on the ceilings. The wall repairs from previous tenants are very noticeable. And the dining rooms have the most atrocious wallpaper I ve ever seen, ha-ha.

I don't really like that the doors are flimsy, and only have a chain lock and deadbolt. The balconies are all connected and very easy to climb. It always made me feel unsafe.

I guess despite all of that, my time at Florence Apartments was okay. The rent is decent and the apartments are too. The new manager Rose seems nice but I'm not sure how she manages the tenants.

Beware of the bedbugs!!

I could not agree with you more! Don't forget that you had to walk a mile every time you wanted to get your laundry done. Not very safe when you know that someone is out there slitting tires! The previous manager, Jennifer, was a horrible manager. She had a bad attitude and was a complete c. u. n.t. rag.
