I would like to set the record straight for those people moving into this area that are originally from a larger city... A lot of these reviews complain about the noise of the highway. Personally, after having lived in two larger cities across the US, I hardly notice the mild hum of the highway. Besides I don't understand why people complain about the highway noise when they knew the highway is there before they decided to move it. It's not like management puts a big curtain over the highway when you are looking at the apartment, and suddenly takes it down when you move in! As far as the noise of the neighbors... the only time I ever hear them is if they are entering their apartment and I am near my door. I've never lived in an apartment where you don't occassionally hear your neighbor leave, especially if I am near my door. That's the downfall of leaving in an apartment. I've never heard my neighbors other than that and it has never woke me up. Maybe I just have good quiet neighbors, none who appear to be 'rednecks'. It would be a lie if I said I was't originally worried about that when I moved to N. KY, but so far so good.
As most have heard, a building just burnt down the other day in the complex due to what I understand as either someone falling asleep with a cigarette or catching their oxygen tank on fire. This could have happened anywhere! I will agree that I wish this complex provided every apartment with a fire extinguisher or better sprinkler system, but I'm not sure how much it would have helped in this case. Because so many people smoke in this area, which is unfortuate for so many reasons, there is more of a fire risk. More people smoking means more people with lung disease needing oxygen tanks, which just makes our chances for fires even higher. However, this has nothing to do with living in Woodspring; this has everything to do with living in Kentucky. Don't get me wrong, I love living in Kentucky, but tobacco is one of our vices.
I've never had an issue with parking but I scoped out the area before I chose an apartment, and picked one that looked like it had plenty of parking. I always get a parking spot close the the building no matter what time of day I get off work.
I'm not saying that this is the most amazing apartment ever, but having lived in other cities, this is pretty good for what I can afford right now. I work a lot so maybe I miss a lot of the drama that appears to go on according to other people's posts, but so far living here has been just fine. aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb
