DON'T move into this hellhole!

I have lived in this complex for several years, and each year it deteriorates more and more. My lease is up very soon and I am anxious to get out of here.

I have witnessed three changes in management over the course of four years, with each crew being less competent than the one before. The office staff is completely unprofessional, unhelpful and rude most of the time.

Over the past year there has been a flood of --------- moving into the complex. In that same time period the crime and vandalism has sky rocketed. Management changed the locks to the fitness room and now charges residents to use it because it was being vandalized on a regular basis. Numerous cars have been keyed, broken into and stolen.
Most of the street lights (not city) on our streets are not working and it is very dark. They have been out for almost a year, because they can't find time to fix them, which in turn leads to more vandalism.

This year a registered lifetime sex offender moved in, and the management did not notify the residents in any way. When confronted by worried residents... their excuse was that they're not REQUIRED to notify residents by law. No, a person can't get out of their lease for this either! (check the KY state police website to search for sex offenders in the area you are moving to!)

Summer of 2002 was very hot and dry for Lakeside Village residents, because the pools were closed most of the summer. First, they didn't even have a pool inspector come out until the week of July 4th. Then, one of the two pools closed early (mid Aug.) because they couldn't keep it clean.

There are so many large dogs in this complex that you can't walk ten feet or let your kids play outside without getting poop on your shoes. Management doensn't enforce the clean-up law, and maintenance certainly doesn't clean it up. It's disgusting and embarassing.

My apartment itself is O.K. The kitchen is out-dated, the windows are drafty, there is alot of noise, and rent goes up and up (without a single deduction for the problems listed above) but there will be problems like these with any apartment. My problems with this complex are all rooted in the management... or lack thereof. Don't shoot yourself in the foot by moving here!
