It's not as bad as these reviews are...

I've lived here for 2 years - started living on W. Chelsea and now I live on Leverett. The apartments are old and do need repairs, but that's what you get when living in an apartment complex. It doesn't market itself as being a "luxury" apartment complex, and as with all places with previous tennants, you will have wear a tear.
They are remodeling all of the backside apartments - it is taking some time, but they are getting them done.
My apartment is great. I do have some issues with water temperature changes, and it does cost a little more to heat than cool, but overall I'm very happy. I have a great view of the lake, my neighbors are friendly, and I am located close to everything. Also, as with any apartment, you can hear neighbors, but it's not enough to keep you up all night.
There are some "comsetic" issues: the lake will at times have a filmy substance in it, but it usually fades as the day passes. I do not use the on-site laundry only because I have found laundy places that are close and cost less. Parking can be difficult, but only if you want to park right by the door. I have have a few instances where dogs would bark in the night and/or people would be talking loudly on their balcony (which is next to my window).
The pools are always clean, the fitness center is tidy, and the front office staff are generally friendly. A lot of how they treat you is based off of how you treat them.
