I currently live on leverett court and have been here only 3 months. We were not allowed to see the apt until the day we moved in and this was not the apt we were suppose to have. The layout they tried to give us was much smaller than the model they showed... and they could only show us one model...' So the day we go to move in we have no apt due to them providing one so small our furniture wouldnt fit. We ended up getting a lake view apt (which I was happy with, cause they gave it to me for the same amount). Our heat didnt work, took 3 weeks for them to fix it..by then I didn't need heat I needed the A/C... the A/C unit is also broke, I am on the 3rd floor, its been 2 months and they are still insisting they fixed it and haven't. The apt reached 90 degrees and I'm pregnant. The A/C runs like a fan but neer cools so I'm just wasting energy.
Our deck was unsafe, the boards were not attacher and there is no screen door. So on those hot days when I have to go without air I can't even open the patio door due to bugs and ducks from the lake getting in!
The lake is full of trash..or was they actually just cleaned out the car tires and bikes and bags of garbage. The lake apartments smell bad of mold or a musky smell.Neighbors blare music so loud my windows rattle and management refuses to say anything to the neighbors and of course the police can't do anything if its not witnessed by them.
I contacted housing authority, I'm persuing my rights to terminate the lease with no legal resposiblity for further payment. My friends are also leaving due to spider issues and lack of management skills. And there is no insulation in the attic areas of the buildings...thus more heat in the top level apts!
Management is rude and act like all that matters is your monthly rent check anythong else is your problem!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!

I am the new manager effecitve as of May 2009. I would like to say that we absolutely do try and accomodate each applicant that walks through our doors. We would not rent an apartment home without showing the apartment before a lease were signed unless circumstances do not able the applicant to view the unit at their request. We have a well organized maintenace staff as well as management staff. We have an entirely new team to over see the daily operations at The Fountains at Lakeside Park. I can assue you that any issues that have been reported are taken care of in a timely manner. We do respond to all complaints that MUST be put in writing in a timely manner. I am a bit confused in regards to the heat and a/c complaints for I have checked our work order log, and all issues have been resolved. We have a magnificent lake that is stocked yearly. We have a fountain in the middle of the lake as well. It is beautiful. Due to unfortunate and careless circumstances, people have in the past put items such as trash in the lake, however the lake is cleaned daily. As this person stated above, she was moved into another unit for the same amount of money that was originally offered. We do accomodate our residents. The apartment buildings are properly insulated and maintained. I encourge all to drive through our property and take a look! This will blow this ridiculous claim out of the water

not true at all!! I lived there as well and was released from and legal obligations to fulfill the lease after only 3 months once I myself contat housing authorities regarding the ongoing issues that never got handled. I submitted request in writing and followed up in person on the matter in person many times. My A/C untit never worked never got repaired. I complained for 3 months and when we called to check the status they give lame reasons like those stated above. Any apt regisering 90 degrees in unlivable. I would like to see a member of management stay in those situations bet it would et fixed then instead the send maintenance guy in that turns the air on and says its running and walked back out as though I was an idiot. The air didnt blow cold air at all, I know 5 other redidents that never got to see the apt they were given until the day they moved in. You get to see a modle that looks just wonderful. To bad no other apt looks that nice. The lake is far from beautiful and the halls in the apts located on the lake smell horrible. In the 3 months i lived there 4 others in my building terminated their lease because nothing ever got done. Management sucked by far. Hopefully with new management things turn better. but as this manager stated please do drive around, buildings have had siding tore off for nearly a year, you see units where people put in window unit a/c because they too do not have air. Residents do not lie if they like it they stay if its hell they leave and they make sure to tell everyone so they arent stuck in the mess. look at the rating of this apartment... I wouldnt wish this place on my worst of enemys. If you want a great apt check out hampton farms in highland heights! I moved to these apartments immediatly after terminating with lakeside. Its quiet, no lound music the police patrol and really have the entire city under control. If your looking for a nice quiet place this is it/ Management here are on top of their game! You have any issue at all its handled same day or scheduled or a day best for you if you wish to be present at the time of entry. My dishwasher was going out, I called , they looked at it the same day told me they would be back in 5 days to replace it. Why 5 days.. because the ordered a brand new one, none of this replace an old with an old stuff. And if the police are called to a unit for any reason the office recieves a copy of the report the very next day and pending the reason for the report they are evicted. Loud music call... one warning second time your out. This is what people want. We want what we pay for. Why pay nearly 800.00 a month for smelly apt on the lake with no air condiioning for 3 months, loud neighbors that management refuses to take care of when you can live in peace in a beautiful apartment have things fixed when needed. Same square footage, fire place washer dryer hook up. For more than a hundred dollars less. Mnagement of these apartments will tell you anything to get you in a lease, the best infomation comes from current and prior residents. I have 2 friends that live at lakeside now and hate it so much they are rarely there they are just counting down the days for the lease to be up. Luckily enough I took all proper means to be able to leave with not financial or legal means to hold me to the terms. I encourage anyone who feels that their renter rights are being violated to contact the housing authorities as I did. I submitted my request 3 times in writing for my air to be fixed, then I wrote a letter advising them under my rights if it wasnt fixed in 14 days as it must be s stated under tenter law that I would be terminationg my lease... as you can see even with that warning they never cared enough to resolve the issue and I was released from the lease.

I also am a resident here. I can assure you that those opposing the Fountains are doing so rightly. I have far to many complaints to list. In one of my apartments here there was a flood, a sewage flood. The management told me that I would have to pay more money to be moved to another apartment. I sure as heck would not have stayed there with my 2 year old son! Management denied that raw sewage was actually in the apartment, Roto Rooter said it was. As I was saying, they did finally offer us a new place, for more money, and it was much smaller. At first we thought it was great. Now we can't sleep due to rude, noisy, dirty neighbors. Our numerous complaints have gone unanswered. This place is falling apart and in serious need of care, attention, and renovations. Also the management staff changes all of the time. But they never seem to get any polite people to work here. My husband is an avid outdoorsman, he has fished the "lake" several times only to come up with a pop/beer can or a plastic bag. We have lived here nearly 6 years, not once has the lake been stocked. As my friend would say, " We are paying resort prices for ghetto housing ". It is unsafe for drivers as many parents do not watch their children. Their kids run across the main road trying to dodge traffic. These complaints have not been tended to either. If you like yourself and your material posessions, Do Not Move Here!
