Would not do over

We have lived here for a few years now and we've seen this place go downhill. The old manager was an alright guy, but he was "let go" recently and replaced by a woman who is more intrested in turning this place into a college party town rather than a normal apartment complex. The buildings are old and starting to fall apart. The windows and doors leak air very badly which translate into outrageous heating and cooling bills. The maintenance guys are very good, usually respond in a tolerable timeframe, but I believe them to be overwhelmed by the aging complex. Two guys can only do so much, but I give them an A for effort. The grounds are kept well manicured if that's what you're into, but most people around here who love the pet policy, don't clean up after their dog so the well manicured grounds are more like mine fields. The other big complaint I have is the rent, which is completely unreasonable. I understand that rent usually goes up every year, and this place is no different. The first few years, rent increased by about 20 dollars a month. I didn't really see where the extra money was going, but whatever. This year we were informed that if we decided to stay, the rent would increase by another 66 dollars a month. Most folks can own a nice home for what we are paying in rent. Like I said before, the new management is targeting students. With NKU just minutes away, we have tons of students here which isn't always a good thing. Sometimes the noise from all around is too much. We've had several visits from the police resulting in noise violations and underage drinking charges to name a few. Management needs to focus their attention on making their long time residents happy, not catering to and exploiting college kids. Maybe 15 years ago, I would have loved it here, but now a thirty something, this place has left a bad taste in my mouth.
