Surprised at the negative comments

I lived at CC for two years plus an odd number of months, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the experience. My apartment was clean and well-maintained, never saw a bug, and blessedly quiet.

Safety: The complex is in the middle of a pretty nice residential neighborhood, and I always felt extremely safe there. It's well-lighted, and I never thought twice about taking an evening walk or coming home late.

Construction: Someone complained that CC is "old"; it isn't, at least for Lexington. All of the other apartments in the city that I looked at were built in the early 70's - CC was built in 1984, and (I was told) has been extensively renovated at least once since then. Some buildings have settled a bit, causing sticky doors and cracks, but maintenance was able to fix those in my apartment.

Noise: Minimal. Occasionally I'd hear a shower or a cranked-up stereo, but never during sleeping hours. Not many cars coming through the lot late at night, either; most of the residents seemed to be in bed by then.

Maintenance: The maintenance team was usually good about responding to my calls within a day or two, and they were always friendly with me. I only remember one instance of having to repeat a request.

Parking: I didn't rent a carport, but unless I came home after 10 pm I always got a parking place close to my unit anyway.

Management: If there's one area I could complain about, this is it. Not because I had any run-ins with them, but because the staff kept turning over. I went through several managers and an ownership change in my two years. But they never tried to stick me with extra fees or anything like that, and all of them took my (rare) complaints seriously.

Bottom line is, if you like a clean, safe, and fairly quiet living environment, you could do a whole lot worse than Chinoe Creek. If I ever moved back to Lexington, I would definitely consider living there again.
