Very Satisfied with Chinoe Creek

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006

I'm in my 3rd year of residency at Chinoe Creek (I also previously lived here in the late 90s), and I have to say that for the price, you just can't beat it! My rent for a one bedroom, one bath with a den is only $619. My annual increase the 1st year was a measly $9, and last was only $5!! Other apartments I've lived in have annual increases far greater than that.

Yes, the apartments are starting to show their age a bit. BUT, they are very well maintained and Chinoe Creek has one of the best, most responsive maintenance staffs going! The very few maintenance requests I've submitted have usually been taken care of same day. I've never seen an insect of any kind in my apartment. The maintenance staff is religious about changing the HVAC filters, which can really save on your utility bills. A previous reviewer commented on the high utility cost; however, my average bill is in the $60-70 range. For an all-electric apartment, this isn't bad at all.

There are quite a few college students that live here, but thankfully, I don't think there are any in my building. My building is peacefully quiet and the neighbors pretty much keep to themselves. Parking is more than adequate with numerous visitors spaces.

If I had any complaints, it would be these: first, I think the monthly smoke alarm checks are a little excessive. I'm the type of renter that doesn't like anyone entering my home when I'm not there, so I'm always having to arrange my schedule so that I can be home during these frequent checks. HOWEVER, the office staff has always been very accommodating about rescheduling the smoke alarm check when I'm unable to be home at their designated time.

Secondly, I wish they would do a better job of keeping the common areas of the building clean. With 10 apartments, they can get kinda dirty. I sweep in front of my apartment, and sometimes the stairwells, but I don't like to keep picking up after my neighbors. It would be nice if the maintenance staff would at least sweep out the corridors weekly.

That's it. I can't say anything else negative against Chinoe Creek. If you want a well-maintained, reasonably priced apartment with a responsive staff, located in a very nice neighborhood and within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, then you should definitely check out Chinoe Creek. I'll be renewing my lease again this year!
