Do not move to Cross Creek!

If you are considering moving to Cross Creek Apartments, please don't. It is the WORST place I EVER lived!!! This includes college dorms where at least, I could adjust the heat and air to be comfortable.

Where do I begin. There were rats/"squirrels" in the attic area above my apartment for over 6 months, until I moved. I suspect they are still there. I reported this problem more than 5 times, and eventually contacted the local government agencies responsible for health regulations and renters rights, only to find that moving out was easier.

I had a gas leak in my apartment when I moved in. I was forced to call Kentucky Gas, because I did not hear back from emergency maintenance. They came out and shut off the gas to my apartment, showed me where the leak was, and left detailed notes for maintenace. The next day, I was told simply that my pilot light was out (which was true, KY Gas turned off the pilot light when they shut off the gas - duh). They did replace the oven, but they patronized me, and attempted to "teach me" how to use a gas oven, suggesting that I should not have contacted KY Gas for a gas leak (!).

There was a leak in the ceiling above my bathroom. It took three calls to get maintenance to come and look at it. When they did, they simply replaced the wet ceiling tile, and did nothing to stop the leak. They also managed to scuff my bath tub and floor tiles (which the office tried to charge me for when I left)!

Others have mentioned the heat/air problems. Let me assure you they have underestimated the problem. I called the office over the poor cooling system and had maintenance in my apartment over 5 times for this. They eventually broke my thermostat and put it to 50 degrees, so that I would not be able to tell how cold it wasn't. I went out and bought a thermometer. It never got cooler than 80 degrees for the duration of the worst summer of my life. In fact, there were a few days I had to stay with a friend. I gave my dog to a family member because I was afraid she would overheat and die while I was away at work.

Oh, and my car was broken into on my third night at the apartment. I was then informed that the area (in the parking lot of Cross Creek) where I had parked was unsafe. This area is right outside of my old apartment! When I asked why I wasn't informed of this when I moved in, I received no response.

Let me assure you, this place is awful. The management/office/maintenance staff are all very polite and will alwyas say the right things. They will never do them. You will not be happy in this apartment complex. If you can afford a little extra rent, move to Beaumont Farms, where I live happily now. If not, move anywhere else! DO NOT MOVE TO CROSS CREEK!!!!!!!!!
