Ok we moved in in June of 2005 and it has been a nightmare ever since. First, when we moved in we talked to one manager, who promised us $300 referral bonus for my brother who was to move in a month later which we were told that we would get when he paid his first month's rent. Then about 3 days after we moved in that manager was gone and we had one hell of a time getting the full amount of our referral bonus, and then we were told that we had to wait until my brother paid his sixth month's rent. Then the second manager was here about a month and we got a new manager, and since that third manager we've had several others and I have lost track of who the manager of the property actually is. Then we had major problems with our AC. It being the middle of June and us living on the top floor it was extremely hot, so hot we actually ended up suffering from dehydration, but the management staff didn't care. They came over and "fixed" it a few times and finally put us in a window unit which they took out about a week later cause they said they'd fixed the air conditioner yet again, but obviously that didn't happen, so fast forward to this year and we were having the same problems with the air conditioner and I actually had to call code enforcement to get them to come look at it once again and they claimed to have fixed it once again but didn't. One of the managers actually had the nerve to tell me not to call code enforcement and to give them a chance to fix it first....ok um how many chances are they wanting cause I've given them an entire year. Then about a month ago it broke for good, no air at all blowing out of the vents and again I called and they said they'd try to have someone come check it. It was at this time that we bought a thermometer with a humidity read out on it and it said it was 96 degrees with 70% humidity in our apartment and I got on weatherchannel.com to calculate the heat index (aka what temp it feels like to your body) and it said 130 degrees! Again I called the office and they didn't give a damn and had the nerve to tell me to go buy a window unit, which of course we couldn't afford because of the new utility policy because we pay about 600 a month plus another 100 or so in utilities. So, I'm sorry I think I already paid for my AC this month!! I told them they needed to get it and finally complied after I threatened to call code enforcement once again, and since they haven't given us a reason to believe they would do that or fix the AC I went ahead and called code enforcement anyway, and they called me back the next day and told me they were serving them with papers that day for my building which is N and the building beside me, M. They said it would give them 24 hours to fix the AC, which of course they finally got it working adequately, not cool, but not heat stroke level as it had been before.
This brings me to another issue, maintenance is no existent, and when they do finally show up, it's about 3 weeks or a month after you put in your work order and they don't tell you when they're coming, they just barge in, even after I repeatedly told them not to come into my house unless I was here. There was one complaint that I know of where someone said that money had been taken from their apartment, regardless of whether or not this is true, I have nice stuff that I don't want stolen, and I don't want the skanky looking maintenance guys in here to find it and take it. I really can't leave the house without worrying about coming home and finding my stuff missing.
Yet another issue we had was a giant mold problem. It seems there was a fire in our building god knows when because they didn't tell us about it when we moved in, and we found a burned beam, actually the entire part encasing our bathroom had been burned and obviously never replaced. We didn't find this until we had the aforementioned problems with our AC which was leaking on the tile, which fell leaving a giant hole through which we can see to the outside of the building, and exposing the burned beams. We had been feeling unusually sick, tired and generally ill since moving in but never connected it to the apartment until we were gone for about 2 weeks during christmas and came back and got sick again after feeling much better after we were away from the place. After seeing mold literally growing on the vents and out of the wall adjacent to the bathroom we were pretty sure it was mold causing the problems, so we called the office and they didn't even have anyone come over and look at it and after calling code enforement and the health department once again, they eventually sent someone over to dust our vents, but they originally told my fiance that they were going to bleach the vents, so I called a mold inspector and he said that wasn't recommended as it wouldn't kill this type of mold and would aggravate our health problems. So it took us from Feb. to about May to get this done and then about a month ago we noticed that the mold was back full force growing out of the wall and all over the vent, so after another couple weeks of pleading our case and calling the health department once again, they sent someone over to put white primer spray paint over the mold and change the vent cover...and the spray paint wasn't even the same color as the wall :(
Which brings me to another point, bugs bugs bugs and yes more bugs! Several people have mentioned this already, but I've seen the guy that comes to spray about 3 times during the 14 months I've lived here and we not only have micro-roaches, but we have giant mutated roaches and yes even a white one. I don't know if they tried to fix the roach problem with that white primer or not but it sure seems that way cause I've never seen a white roach in my entire life!! Oh and not to mention the giant spiders, some kind of freaky hardshelled bugs, grasshoppers, and my personal favorite the elusive grasshopper/spider combination that lives in my bathroom. Most of the bugs must come in through the windows because the screens don't fit the windows right. And oh yes, we have mice too!!
which brings me to another problem we had with the AC/Heating unit. This past winter the temp in our apartment I swear never reached over fifty degrees even though we had it on 90. The windows and walls leak air so bad we had to put up plastic over them with duct tape, which became a real pain when it started getting warmer during the day and really cold at night during the springtime, and we couldn't raise the windows without removing the plastic, thus defeating trying to keep it warm in here. We told maintenance about this many many times, but continued to suffer the entire winter and had to buy a few of those little portable heaters from walmart.
Our newest problem is with our cable and internet access. We have two rooms hooked up with cable, one coming directly from the wall jack and another hooked up to a digital box and the other bedroom has internet access. I got home from work about two weeks ago and the cable that's only hooked up to the wall was all snowy and so we decided to check the cable with the digital box and it wouldn't work at all, then we discovered our internet was down. We called insight and after being on the phone with them for about an hour they decided we needed to have a tech come look at it, so they came out the next day and took a reading of the signal and checked the outside hookup and everything. He said the cable running from outside to our apartment was so old that they don't even use that kind anymore! They said it was up to the apartment complex to have it fixed because they no longer wire apartments, so we called in a work order and still two weeks later we don't have any cable on our digital box and no internet! They're saying they don't have to fix it either. I've called them about 15 times trying to get this fixed and the last time I called the girl that answered the phone looked up the work order and said it had been marked complete and they hadn't even been over to check it out!!
Since we've moved in here it has been nothing but one problem after another, and my fiance and I both feel mentally as well as physically exhausted due to living here. This place spends more money on landscaping than they do on the actual upkeep of the apartments, once again proving you can't judge a book by its cover. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I have to agree with you 100%. I'm currently living there, and same exact to exact things are happening. No AC, bugs, poor maintenance, oh ya more bugs. I complained about my shower faucet leaking hot water in MARCH, its September now, they came by wednesday to STOP the faucet from leaking, and stopping it completely and leaving me with no hot water. so, so far its been 5 days and i have yet to take shower.
