The pros: affordable rent, utilities included, helpful management staff, quick and effective maintenance.
The cons: sub-par laundry facilities, and a perpetual, never-ending roach infestation that still recurs even after bi-monthly, in-apartment sprayings.

Jamison,
I also lived at Fayette crossing from Jan 08-May 08 at the second building across the street from the office. If I did not have to move back to Texas, I would still be living in that unit. The very few times I had to call maintenance, they came at any hour and corrected the issue. I am currently looking for a place similar to this property in Texas. Wish I was still there.

Funny because when I was a resident, I was told by management that residents were not allowed to work as staff at Fayette Crossing. The above statement by Mr. Barrow means he either lied to me or is lying in his statements here. Therefore, perhaps it is best to take all of his words in regard to Fayette Crossing with not just a grain of salt, but a shot of whiskey just for the suspension of trust necessary in dealing with Fayette Crossing and their version of honesty.

Hello, this is Jamison with Empire Management. I am revising my response to this review, because I accidentally erased the last one when I tried to reply to a reply.
My main concern was with the pest infestation that is claimed in this review. The tenant wrote this at 1:05 am on a Wednesday night. Her first complaint ever about roaches was when she called our 24-hour number at 1am that same night. Five minutes is not enough time to get rid of a pest infestation. The tenant had been looking for a way out of her lease, and assumed that this complaint would do that. In fact, she moved out about a week after this was posted, and broke her lease. After the tenant complained, we sent the exterminator to that breezeway several times to take care of the problem. There is a new resident in that apartment, and they havent had any problems with bugs. Our policy on extermination is that we do a professional preventative spraying once every two months, and we respond quickly with another professional treatment if any problems occur in the meantime. We keep close track of every treatment. The tenant is not charged for the regular treatment, and is not charged for the follow-up unless they are contributing to the problem in some way (dirty dishes, poor housekeeping, etc.). We take bug problems very seriously. I live here, and so does most of my staff, and we like having a clean, quiet place to live just as much as the next person! As far as the laundry facilities, I think theyre kind of nice! I do my laundry here every week, and its convenient for me that theyre open 24 hours. If you want to see them when you come look at an apartment, wed be happy to show them to you! In response to the anonymous post above: Actually, when you asked if you could work in the office, I told you the truth: We do not normally hire residents. Not only does it cause too many conflicts of interest, but every resident that you do not hire is then upset that you didn't hire them. Also, if you have to fire a resident, you are likely going to lose both an employee and a tenant. Our Maintenance Supervisor has lived here for years, even before we bought the property. Our leasing agent did not live here when she was hired, but she does now. I did not hire a resident. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't make an exception in the future for an extraordinary circumstance. But it's normally not a good idea. Thanks, everybody for taking the time to read this site and do your homework. I think it's a great resource for residents and management when it's used properly ! If there are any questions we can answer, our phone number is 859-273-6264. - Jamison A. Barrow Vice-President of Operations Empire Management |
